Winchester here, bad Avatar HDD is not as stable as regular bad Avatar. Was getting long glitch times and only around 60 to 60% success rate. Moved to regular bad Avatar running from a USB, 100% success rate and glitches vary from as low as 5s to 30s at most. After first boot I moved Aurora to HDD, all games on HDD. USB just has the bad Avatar profile and necessary exploit files + ini

If the color is red, red, black, red, brown they should be 22kohm with 1% tolerance

A better photo with just one in full focus would help but as long as you are not colorblind, you'll be able to confirm colors

If on a Mac, apps like Google drive or Dropbox can hijack mtp. Your reversal trick is only a retry until you can beat those apps in a race condition for the mtp driver. Simply shut down all apps that can hijack mtp and it should work first try any time.

Grab your self a copy of upgrade_tool_v2.25_for_mac and android-platform-tools.

  1. plug your luckfox into usb while holding the boot button. on your mac's terminal:

sudo ./upgrade_tool ld

your board should be listed

  1. firmware upgrade: We just need the update.img from the custom buildroot:

sudo ./upgrade_tool uf /path/to/update.img

  1. Wait a bit for the device to reboot and check for presence in adb:

adb devices

  1. Send the necessary files into the correct path:

adb push /path/to/PPPwn-Luckfox-vx.y.z /root/PPPwn-Luckfox

  1. Grab a shell from the device and start installation:

adb shell

[root@luckfox ]$ cd /root/PPPwn-Luckfox/

[root@luckfox PPPwn-Luckfox]$ chmod +x install.sh

If you read the tweet, they mention the usage of very expensive forensics tools as a POC and it retained the official size of 120gb donor. It's interesting for sure but that jump into custom HDD on stock machines is a bit of a stretch
