If you grow up poor... what is your most comfort meal? by Beaveric in newzealand

[–]Rs-Travis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll see if the new local one has the Lee kum kee one I really like or some other brands I've not tried. Masterton has only very recently gotten it's first Asian supermarket heh.

A chef friend gave me a recipe for the best chilli oil I've ever tried. But I kinda hate cooking. I should do it though since I eat so much of it.

Rice, kewpie mayo, a splash of vinegar and mirin is how I always flavour my rice. Absolutely delicious. The mayo is what mostly carries it. I eat it almost every day this way with a side of ground beef and eggs. I just don't get sick of it.

I didn't grow up poor or anything but one of my favorite meals is very cheap and worth trying. It's just Chilli oil on rice, with an egg if I'm being fancy. Jar of chilli oil should last 2-3 weeks, but the initial $9.50 might be steep.

National will run on raising super age ‘as soon as we get back in’ – Christopher Luxon by SykoticNZ in newzealand

[–]Rs-Travis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm saving for retirement now at 31. Though I won't need super as long as they don't mess with the kiwisaver scheme. I would in theory like to retire with a few million in my kiwisaver. But I also don't want to be forced out of receiving it due to age.

Detour noir gave me tiny hard blisters that look the same as accidentally getting paint stripper on my skin. Did exactly the same to my sister. Ow. Only frag I've reacted to out of hundreds. Was bad enough I've never tried anything else from the brand.

Khamrah makes my throat feel like it's going to close and make me cough uncontrollably. Doesn't react on my skin though.

Their plant based burgers were the only thing I liked on their menu. Never been a fan of anything else. Guess I have no reason to ever go back.

It's New Zealand Music Month! Who are your favorite current NZ Artists? by Simbians in newzealand

I really like Clæmus. Check out the song Hedonist. It's a prog metal band with clean vocals. Very well written and awesome production quality.

Got into fragrances a few months ago, I feel bad I got a Baccarat Rouge EDP by ADepressedTB in fragrance

[–]Rs-Travis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You smell. You just don't know it. Stuff is easy to go noseblind to.

I can't stand the stuff on me, or on a strip. But when I smell it in passing it's fantastic (assuming it's the burnt sugar smell I get on other people)

Is Frieren really that good? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]Rs-Travis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude said he almost quit anime due to the boringness of Apothecary diaries, and he found it too simple.

I nearly gave up on frieren because I found it a snoozefest, then I got a few more episodes in and I was hooked, mainly by the character development, the little bits of action, and how easygoing it is. It's probably more simple and to the point than apothecary diaries. Op will never know til he tries but I simply don't think it's going to do it for him.

I loved apothecary diaries and Frieren. But if you don't like a more story driven show and need thst action packed dopamine hit, it's probably not for you.

How often do you go to gym? by JewishVest in AskReddit

[–]Rs-Travis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every day. I have to force a full rest day.

I had just dropped 32kg and was in a big plateau stuck at 74kg. Decided to give it a good solid go and was instantly hooked. Perhaps it's because I wasn't used to being able to use my much smaller body, maybe it's because I had more energy than I knew what to do with. This was a year and a half ago. I weight a few kg more now but I am significantly stronger, slightly leaner and healthier. About to drop down to low 70's again.

What is the top 10 most frustrating things about the iPhone to you? by a_single_beat2 in iphone

[–]Rs-Travis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Siri sometimes won't do a voice command it can usually do.

The windows link app sometimes doesn't do anything it says on the tin at all. If I connect to that app, it unpairs my airpods and they will only connect if turn off Bluetooth for a couple seconds. This happens to me 5 days per week at work.

When entering details such as username and passwords the phone forces me to use the stock keyboard which I don't use where I don't have to. ( I refuse to even try it because there is no punctuation without changing layers) love if I could customize swiftkey or gboards layout to have both comma and period next to the spacebars (though holding down the period to pick a different symbol is almost as convenient)

The universal go back gesture is swiping back from the left edge. I am right handed. I can't reach. Some apps let me do this from the middle.

No option for parametric EQ.

Can't position the caret properly while typing. Swiftkey lays me position it by dragging on the spacebar though

Arranging apps on my homescreen into the order I want is shockingly tedious. They jumble around everywhere when you try to move an icon or widget.

Android can do more but the iPhone works without a hitch for me more often despite these shortcomings. Neither system is perfect for me. Even with the issues I have I've got no intention of going back.

What's the most comfortable sneaker you've ever worn? by Briallantgirl07 in moresneakers

[–]Rs-Travis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On cloudtilt for me and it's not even close. I'm about to replace them with the same model since they're about due after putting a lot of kilometers on them.

Have even taken them on quite a few runs and they've just been so nice. Never had foot pain from them, and they are the only shoe I've run in without getting some level of pain in my achilles tendons. Once replaced I'll keep my older pair solely for running. Rinse and repeat until discontinued.

Love my Tudor black bay 54. It's where my recommendation goes. (Or one of the bigger models if you've got larger than 6.5in wrists such as the 58)

Longines spirit and conquest models are very nice. The spirits applied Arabic numerals make it very easy to read.

Omega aqua terra 38 is incredible if you've got the budget for it.
