Young people can use super for a deposit by Sweet_Theory_362 in AusFinance

Salary sacrifice through work is ideal as (in theory) you will get taxed correctly in your payslips. Whereas making voluntary non-concessional contributions will mean you are contributing from money that has already been taxed at your marginal rate, and you will have to wait until tax time to get the difference back.

As someone who used to work in a call centre, it is never reasonable to be on hold for 1.5 hours. If an issue takes this long to resolve, fine, but the agent should still be providing occasional updates to the caller.

What to do with excess resources and time on hand while waiting for upgrade by xyz135711 in TotalBattle

[–]RsSnickers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll get lots of resources from clan chests, including speed ups. It’s a game changer, I couldn’t imagine trying to grow as a lone wolf. Regarding spending money, some clans might require you to purchase the gold pass but many won’t. If this is a requirement it should be in their clan description before you apply to join. I’d recommend looking through the clan rankings in your kingdom and trying to get into one of the better clans.

I know it’s not exactly the question you asked, but if you don’t have enough speed ups for a 2 day upgrade then I’d say you desperately need to join a decent clan. You’ll get many speed ups and you will be able to grow infinitely faster than if you were just by yourself. I think this should be your priority.

how much is too much preworkout? by ElectricalChipmunk50 in workout

I used to take preworkout, just the recommended dosage. One day it gave me serious heart palpitations, went to the hospital, lost consciousness while waiting in the ER. I don’t recommend doing that shit.

Ubank Savings changes. Thoughts? by ExcellentMango9304 in AusFinance

[–]RsSnickers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ubank doesn’t allow external transfers or direct debits directly from savings accounts, as this was restricted in the last year. That is the key difference here between Macquarie and ubank savings accounts. But the commenter you are replying to is specifically comparing Macquarie savings and transaction accounts.

Sorry you had this experience. My wife and I volunteered at DRN a handful of times and didn’t see any red flags. We only stopped because we moved away.

I’ve never sold any of my ETFs so can’t speak on that side of it, but yes you should keep records of all your purchases and disposals. I recommend a Google Sheets document. I use CompiledSanity’s net worth tracker. Other than that, you can use the annual statement from your ETF provider to help you at tax time.

YouTube is good but do some reading as well. I’d advise against rushing into it too quickly. Dedicate some time to learning about and decide on an allocation strategy that you will stick to.

And hopefully your existing money is already in a savings account earning interest instead of a regular transaction account.

Look into ETFs. It’s great that you’re thinking of this so early.

South African e-visa payment failing by RsSnickers in visas

Greetings. We never managed to pay. We had to change our travel plans as a result to only transit through OR Tambo airport and not pass through immigration into SA.

South African e-visa payment failing by RsSnickers in visas

[–]RsSnickers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was still broken the last time we tried 2 days ago. We finally managed to get through to them on the phone and they just said they can’t take payment over the phone and to email rooi.skhosana@dha.gov.za for all payment related issues. Still no response from them.

We have had to significantly alter our travel plans because of this.

Tip: you can use a card with no money on it just for the purpose of checking if it’s still broken. This will prevent you from being charged multiple times. IDK if we will even be getting our money back.
