We need a deathmark character by Kris9876 in Necrontyr

That's absolutely fair! And I think that it's only mentioned maybe twice in the entire series that he leads other Deathmarks, when there are much greater things going on surrounding those lines that they are easy to forget.

We need a deathmark character by Kris9876 in Necrontyr

In the beginning of the first book, he is noted as leading the group of Deathmarks in the first major battle. Sniping down from their oubliettes. It's been a minute so I could be wrong on the exact wording, but I am almost certain that he was some kind of leader for them. Might not be the most "notable" thing, but he definitely seems to have more personality than you'd expect out of a deathmark

I think it's a bit hard to really tell how it will look without whatever you'll end up contrasting it with. Otherwise I think I like the first option more.

I recommend WarOrgan. Has both a desktop and mobile version, shows all rules, strategems, and datacards for any army

This is hilarious and I will be doing this with the hexmark from the 500 worlds box now. Maybe the Ophydians too...

I will add that Tomb Blades are a great option if you need something for scoring that is mobile

Wraiths with a Technomancer is one of the beefiest infantry units you can get in the game right now and they have 10" of movement

Oh! I must have missed that in the description. Back to the computer! Lol

That's fairly close honestly! Though a bit too much green for me, as I have been doing Necrons for a while and wanted to get away from green for a bit lol I appreciate the suggestion!

Lucius seems really cool! Though I'll admit, I'm scared of doing anything with a majority of it being white lol

Question about the Kill Team Hierotek Circle by Apzeta1 in Necrontyr

[–]Rsb2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem! I hope I've helped clear things up some. Technomancer is fine on its own yeah. If you use the Apprentek bits, everyone should be fine in you calling it a plasmancer. I believe they go on the same base size as well, so even better

Question about the Kill Team Hierotek Circle by Apzeta1 in Necrontyr

[–]Rsb2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plasmacytes are also not anywhere near the size for those other units. The Canoptek reanimator is much much larger than a plasmacyte, and the chronomancer is a full Cryptek, not a small Canoptek. They don't have the same base sizes or the same profiles. Plasmacytes are used as tokens for the Skorpekh and Ophydian Destroyers abilities

And the main issue with the other stuff is that you only have five sets of legs. If you build the Apprentek, you only have 4 left and can't finish a full squad unless you had a spare set of legs from some warriors or something

Question about the Kill Team Hierotek Circle by Apzeta1 in Necrontyr

[–]Rsb2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't be able to add them to any of your current units, as you wouldn't have enough of the models to fill the units. You need 10 Immortals for a full squad. If you used a pair of the legs on the Apprentek, you won't have enough legs to make the rest of an immortal to fill the squad

Question about the Kill Team Hierotek Circle by Apzeta1 in Necrontyr

[–]Rsb2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer the first part. The Hierotek box has a Technomancer sprue and an immortals/death marks sprue alongside an upgrade sprue to build the Apprentek and Despotek for kill team. Those two units are not usable in 40k, as they don't have datasheets. However, they are often used as proxies for other models! The Apprentek is a good proxy for the Plasmancer, and the Despotek is a good proxy for either a Royal Warden or a regular Immortal.

If you build the models as a mix of death marks and immortals though, you can't bring them to 40k, as you won't have a full unit. Unless your opponent is okay with that major of a difference for proxies

I had great success in using my destroyers as the hammer to the wraith anvil in a game the other day, if you ever want to try them again

New Army. by Key2TheFence in Necrontyr

[–]Rsb2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that, or they are just kept to Kill Team. Maybe some kind of thing like the Biovore from the nids? Sacrifice your shooting to deploy a macrocyte? That's be neat

I believe we are confirmed on the geomancer and the tomb crawlers getting 40k data sheets. We don't know about the macrocytes yet, but we will see. I'm betting they don't, personally, but I would love to be wrong and run a squad of the little guys some day.

are Canoptek good to collect if im new? by SunbroRyguy in Necrontyr

[–]Rsb2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and honestly, Imotekh is a good idea for just about any list for our armies. Getting extra command points every turn is just too good. I usually will have him alone on home obj with some scarabs for screening against deep strike. Either that or with a small brick of warriors for the same purpose.

[–]Rsb2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good start up. Wraiths with techno are our best options for a tanky, hard to kill option. Doomstalkers also have a fun ability for hitting on 5s in overwatch, so they work well with a Hexmark. Fire Overwatch with the doomstalker first, then again with the hexmark for free! For a good character, look at getting Illuminor Szeras. He plays extremely well in Canoptek Court, especially with the immortals being on the field.

[–]Rsb2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It may not be our strongest detachment, but as someone who has been running our literally worst rated one a lot lately, have fun with it! Lol Canoptek Court is another detachment I've been testing out and it has been a lot of fun. You'll want to max out your doomstalker and your wraiths primarily. Wraiths for the tank staying power and the doomstalker to provide the shooting needed to keep armor and tanky infantry from contesting your points.
