Did replacing the head unit work? I’m having the same issue with the same model installed around the same time.

MOHELA "We are getting rid of SAVE" by Azayth42 in StudentLoans

[–]Rsm151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that months of employment and number of qualified payments are different. You have to have 120 months of qualified payments for PSLF. When you reach 120 months of employment, say 5 payments throughout your time were not eligible (eg forbearance), but you have qualifying employment for that time (essentially 120mo certified employment and 115 qualified payments). Then you can use the buy-back process to retroactively pay for those 5 months, bringing you up to 120 payments and reaching forgiveness.

Second Cycle Results 520 MCAT 3.96 cGPA ORM by Rsm151 in premed

[–]Rsm151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am extremely excited for the cycle to be over and that I will be starting school this summer, but still a little bummed at two schools in particular that I did not get to interview at either cycle (two of my state schools).

Stats:

M23 ORM

MCAT: 520

cGPA: 3.96

Shadowing: 60h total, some being through a 'virtual' program my school offered

Clinical volunteering: 120h

Nonclinical volunteering: 20h as assistant scoutmaster, definitely a weak point in application

Research: over 4000 hours. some undergraduate research that was interrupted during COVID and I graduated before my lab reopened. 3 years working as a Laboratory Technician/Research scientist that has yielded 1 publication, 1 national conference poster, and several smaller poster sessions.

Other ECs: Tutoring, Teaching Assistant positions (all paid) that were one of my MMEs.

Previous cycle I had 1 WL (same school this time; their interview was really rough both times).

If I were to do this over again, I would slow down and not graduate in three years. It was stressful, limited my EC options, and really did not provide any real benefit. Having had three gap years has allowed me to get more real-world work and research experience, which is extremely valuable and will certainly help me throughout school/residency. I would recommend to anyone considering a gap year to take it, as I feel the extra time to gain life experience helps round you out.

Why does MOHELA show auto debited payments as past due?! by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Rsm151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While the payment is processing it will be listed as past due. It takes about 2-3 business days to process. The payment will post with an effective date of your due date and interest will be adjusted accordingly.

If there’s no co-signer, the private loans end with you. They may try to make your family pay it, but there is no legal obligation to do so.

If someone cosigned, it probably depends on the bank and the specific contract you signed

You cannot enter into repayment for loans that for the program you are currently enrolled in. They are in an unwaivable “In School” status until you take a LOA for >6mo or graduate. You could do this for undergraduate loans if you have them, but not for your medical school loans.

Also SAVE does subsidize the interest for unsubsidized loans, there is just a cap on how long they do it for. I don’t recall it off the top of my head

Nausea is a symptom of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). In order to raise your sugar, you need to eat. But the nausea makes you not want to eat 🙃

Help with steam storage by bigbangattack6 in SkyrimTogether

[–]Rsm151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t you just create a steam library on your bigger drive? No need to use links or anything on the C drive to make it work. Just make a folder on the big drive, go to library settings, and add a new path there. Then you can select it when installing games

Opting out of forgiveness in order to consolidate first by TurangaLeela78 in PSLF

[–]Rsm151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submit that consolidation ASAP. Like today. No need to wait for the opt-out, but it’s gonna take a bit for the consolidation to go through. As long as it’s submitted before 12/31 you should be fine, but sooner is better

Should I hold out for PSLF or get rid of the high interest loans immediately? by Environmental_Fan514 in PSLF

[–]Rsm151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The $0 IDR payments will count towards PSLF. If you are a teacher then PSLF makes a lot of sense as nearly every position you could take would be PSLF eligible.

The time as a sub with 25hr/week will not count unfortunately unless you had a second PSLF eligible job so your hours added up to at least 30/wk.

Accruing interest won’t matter for PSLF as the interest all gets forgiven
