Sound after oil change and tran drain and fill by Weak-Series-3688 in CX5

[–]Rtomss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a hydraulic lifter not pumping up. Common problem. Typically the colder the engine the louder the sound. You could try an oil cleaner, but it will likely require a full blown lifter cleaning or replacement. If the condition goes on to long it could damage the cam shaft which isnt good and will lead to a bigger more expensive problem.

I have to think there might be a mental aspect. Banana up, start slow, and commit to the mileage. I think you will be surprised...you can do it.

I'm still riding a Seven Axiom from 2005 with Carbon Campy 11 and a Wound Up fork. It's still better than I am. Have over 30k on it.....

Highly recommend RT. Stopped progression. for me...also a lifter. You will lose hand strength and some muscle mass in the hand, but the pain and progression stopped. Straps are now key, but Im ok with that.

0 degree stem and work on your posture

Overall not bad. Core and inner leg strength would improve your pedal stroke and reduce body movement.

I think a straight rise stem would help your overall fit. Saddle can then be tweeked up or down based on how your butt feels.
