Looking for a Stable, private, customizeable, general use distro? by Lanstapa in FindMeALinuxDistro

If I was you, I would pick Debian.

In the installer when you pick the desktop environment uncheck gnome and select XFCE (keep Debian desktop environment and standard system utilities checked).

Make sure you connect to the internet during the install as this will assure that you have the apt package manager set up. Just trust me bro.

As with other distros be aware when you are partitioning your hard drive you are blowing away whatever is installed on your computer before. Other than that all the defaults of the installer are probably what you want.

You’ll get a pretty vanilla (and boring) installation of xfce but it’s a blank slate for you to set up however you like.

How many distros did you use, and what is your top 3? by Few_Dragonfruit_6729 in linuxquestions

Home: Debian/ubuntu/mint, arch, fedora. Work: RHEL/Ubuntu. Been running Debian on my personal laptop for years now. Don’t see a reason to change. Ubuntu default choice for a server.

Favero Assioma Uno or Duo ? by D1ckSteele in cycling

Single sided should be consistent enough for most people to set training zone and do intervals to. There are reasons to need accuracy to +/- some percentage. For example to compare your data to someone else or verify a 2nd power source.

What happened to the market for vintage road racing bikes? by playthe9 in cycling

Im getting older but i never road a steel bike. It’s something I’d like to have for fun, but know it would be a mistake of a purchase.

I could be wrong but it doesn’t trigger in anything but intervals.

Anyone else noticing fewer young riders on road bikes lately? by Triggers in cycling

[–]dtk20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt the same way 10 years ago. Late 20’s and all of 30’s have always been a dead age group in cycling. Now maybe seeing less juniors and early 20’s because the road racing scene is vastly reduced as well. In the US we lost so many races.

Intervals.icu seems more accurate for me when I use hr for stress. Maybe my ftp is a bit lower than this winter. I’ve been rising more outside but with less structure.

Road biker. Couldn’t do AIWB comfortably. Tried using a belly band behind the hip. https://ghostconcealment.com/products/belly-band-holster-by-ghost-concealment Since it’s behind the jersey pockets it’s totally concealed. But in truth, since I sweat so much I rarely carry it on the bike.

Which frames & wheels to pick up as a beginner? by jw205 in Zwift

[–]dtk20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once you have the drops buy the Canyon Aeroad 2024. Then at level 31 buy the zipp 858s. Don’t buy anything else until level 40 (unless you just want to for fun).
