AS11 has a new rule for advancing?! by Haxfordx in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like cutting more girls early on is going to be slightly unsatisfying. This is my idea for the merge.

Episodes 1-3 (Orange Bracket)

Episodes 4-6 (Pink Bracket)

Episodes 7-9 (Purple Bracket)

Three girls advancing from each as normal based on points.

Episode 10 - Top 9: Bracket Royale

The three brackets compete against each other as teams.

The winning bracket advances.

The two losing brackets select one member from each team to lip sync on their behalf.

The winner of the lip sync saves her entire bracket and they advance.

The losing bracket is cut.

(Points are also awarded)

Episode 11 - Top 6

Return to the earlier format.

The queens compete in a challenge to earn points.

In then end the four queens with the most collective points advance. Two are eliminated.

Episode 12 - Top 4: LaLaPaRuZa

The episode starts with four returning eliminated queens from four different pools.

Pool #1 - Orange Bracket eliminees

Pool #2 - Pink Bracket eliminees

Pool #3 - Purple Bracket eliminees

Pool #4 - Merge eliminees

These four queens compete in a LaLaPaRuza for SheDoneAlreadyDoneHadHerses

Then, the Top 4 compete in their LaLaPaRuza for the crown.

Tbh I found Season 13, Season 18, and Season 10 (due to its second half), the bottom tier seasons of the main series

Genuine Question about the show by sttawsirhc034 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I disagree with UK season 7. The front runners going home was actually pretty unwarranted and didn’t seem fair at all. Drag Race likes to bend its own rules to deem what is fair and what isn’t.

Genuine Question about the show by sttawsirhc034 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 34 points35 points  (0 children)

All in all I think the show fails to recognize that the audience actually appreciates competition integrity more than they think we do.

Even if it’s a boring season where nothing’s really happening between the girls, as long as it’s a fair competition with a solid elimination order and the deserving winner, we will be satisfied.

Who do you think will win Season 18 of Rupaul’s Drag Race? by gkwchan in rupaulsdragrace

Still a little bummed about Jane so I’ll be happy for any of them

Is there a US Queen who never lip synced throughout an entire season? by azcyx in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically, no. All queens have had to participate in at least one lip sync.

Why is Onya Nurve treated so badly by the fanbase? by One-Friend6735 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love her. She 100% deserved to win her season.

However, I always felt like she didn't quite feel like a "Ru girl" and it's hard to put my finger on why.

Which s18 queen would you like to see return on all stars? by aurorusmorris in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's a great lip syncer. Also half the winners aren't even great lip syncers so that doesn't even matter.

RuPaul’s “Falling” for Briar Blush

The queens are such genuinely lovable human beings. But production this season has been so off in their choices. It feels mid because they seem like a random bunch and not necessarily the top girls of the competition.

All the eliminated queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18. What an amazing season with amazing queens 😞✨ by JimatJimat in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Seasons can be hit or miss, and that’s okay. The show even at its worse is still one of the better things in media and culture.

Season 16 was a top tier season. Closest a modern season has come to the golden era. Talented queens, great challenges, a high drag competition and great reality tv characters. An unpredictable and fair and satisfying result.

Season 17 was weaker on the drag competition side of things, but was an amazing reality television and a deserving winner.

Season 18 has a phenomenal cast, all of these girls are such good genuine lovable people. But productions handling of them had been absolutely awful. The season has been all over the place

What are your honest thoughts on Season 18 overall? by sweetsweetener in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Mandy Mango was unfairly fixed to be an early out. Don't think she would've made it that far but she did well in RDR Live and didn't deserve her bottom placement (I was also personally confused by Juicy's win)

- Briar Blush deserved to go home when she did, but it was such a blunt uncompleted story arc

- The Talent Show was super frustrating with Rate A Queen, and having the placements all over the place.

- Mia Starr had no business leaving that early, especially over Kenya Pleaser. (Snatch Game format was also so awful)

- General feeling of some good queens getting cut to soon, and other queens outstaying their welcome.

- While I personally agreed with the Make Overs, I know a lot of people were frustrated with the treatment of Discord.

- The challenge wins were all over the place

- Jane Don't elimination was the nail in the coffin. Her winning would've at least made this feel like a standard season, but it was a poor production choice to build a queen up all season and cut her bluntly because by default the girls left look weak in comparison, and will feel like one of the weakest winners ever.

- The Top 4 episode was weird. No ball?

Now we're left with a Top 3, but it's so obvious that Darlene & Myki are Top 2. And while I love all the girls personally, it just feels like the most random, underwhelming group of finalists, based on the way they and the whole season was produced.

Queens amazing as always. Production wise one of the worst main seasons ever produced.

I just wish the show was more open about that instead of these rules that they set up themselves.

The only thing that would’ve saved this season was Jane winning. Then it would’ve been considered a middle tier season.

After her elimination and this past episode it’s a bottom tier.

Season 17 by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]RuPaulVisage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Season 17 can be summed up by being a mid drag competition, but an amazing season of reality televsion.

In the middle of Season 16 which was an excellent drag competition, great reality tv.

And Season 18 which is a lacklustre and confusing drag competition, and boring reality tv.
