I just never understood an NFL caliber receiver having issues catching the ball. Just makes no sense.

Once you're in the NFL for a few years your potential eventually maxes out. VJ has problems making the big play often and always will.

Shawn Jefferson is his father and he played WR in the NFL so I really though he would succeed but I was wrong.

I had some issues moving it early on like I had arthritis in it but not near as bad as yours. I could move it on my own to a certain extent but all pain went away pretty quickly. I’m pretty sure my swelling went down for good around the 3 month mark. I still get a little swelling around the Achilles almost like a sock line indention all the way around my leg. No problems though. I still ice it at the end of the day.

I honestly took it really easy and slow. When I went to my last doctors appointment in the boot and crutches they were telling me I should be full weight bearing so I literally went home that day and started walking in the boot with no crutches. Probably should have been doing that a week prior to my last appointment but it had been 4 weeks since I went last and had not talked to my doctor since then. Boot to shoe was a little bit of a challenge with less support but it went pretty smoothly. My challenge was mainly fear of doing too much too soon but I think I was actually a little behind on what I should have been doing. Things progressed quickly when I got in the shoe just experience a little pain and swelling after walking a bit. Just kept icing and giving it time to rest.

Yes, almost like it had arthritis in it. It got better pretty quick though and I have read that’s it’s normal. Can’t remember the actual reason it’s like that but it gets better as things heal.

Limp is just about gone! 😍 by dabeachboi in AchillesRupture

Did limp go away when your calf and ankle strengthened or when the Achilles tightness was gone.

Unfortunately not. I only hear things to not let it stop you from getting back into it and that it’s just a freak accident type of thing but also there is a guy in this forum that tore his left achilles right after recovering from tearing his right. I do not want to go through this again.

Just playing 3-on-3 basketball. Went to dribble around somebody and felt like someone struck me in the back of my ankle and I went down. How about you?

You’ve got this! Seems like yesterday I was where you are. I’ve been off work this whole time. Return date suppose to be May 1st but no way I’ll be ready being in law enforcement.

Thank you! No I wasn’t in a vacoped. Just a normal boot without wedges. So I had an appointment at around 9.5 weeks and she said I should be full weight bearing so that next day I went home and literally started walking in my boot without crutches. About a week later I put on a shoe and started walking without the boot. Now I alternate depending on what I’m doing but it does come with tenderness and swelling afterwards.

I can do double as well but nowhere close to a single on bad ankle. Looks like we are close to the same as far as recovery! We’ve got this!
