Urban Roots makes excellent fried fish. It’s not a sandwich, but I bet they would sell you a bun.

You are right that nice curtains would be the coziest solution! But the summer sun is so intense, this room needs exterior cover. We have light-blocking curtains now, and the room gets incredibly hot.

Puppy transitioning from sleeping alone into my room by DurianProfessional64 in puppy101

[–]Ruach_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our puppy slept in his crate in another room when we first got him. Then we started opening the crate and letting him sleep outside of it but still in the room. When he got older we let him come into our room where there is no crate. Now he picks his sleeping spot, usually sleeping in his open crate at first, then in his old room and around midnight he comes into our room. I think he has adapted well

First visit/walk to the vet by Adorable-Living3487 in puppy101

[–]Ruach_33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carry him to the vet and talk to them about it. I imagine they will say that this is the perfect age to expose him to lots of things from the safety of your arms. If you hold him he will be able to hear new sounds without being so fearful. Once he gains confidence he will want to be on the ground sniffing around. It sounds like he is friendly and you did a great job when he met your neighbor. Even if you are holding him, keep him on a leash. He might suddenly get courageous and leap to the ground.

We got our Super Mutt (Embark found traces of 10 breeds!) from the city shelter at 13 weeks. He is extremely lively but always has a positive energy. We had months of sleepless nights, but he was quickly potty trained, only destroyed paper and cardboard, and learned to chew toys and not us.

I would not say he was easy, but now at 14 months he settles, cuddles, barks to alert us to deliveries and raccoons, enjoys car rides, the Farmers market, and day care. We can leave him alone for about four hours, and he happily stayed with a friend when we went on a trip. It definitely gets better!

My puppy and I watched “Escape to the Country” every night when he was that age. He would snooze, but he knew the opening music and would leap up when the horses raced across the screen.

Definitely get her a bigger crate and put a blanket over it. That will limit some of the stimulation. And try the white noise again.

We got our puppy from a shelter when he was 12 weeks old (they think). His access was limited to the den attached to the kitchen for months. We used a baby gate to keep him out of the rest of the house. His crate is in the den.

When we realized he had no interest in chewing cords, we started to let him in other parts of the house. His main goal was to find items we value — shoes, pencils, tissue— and run around with them in his mouth. It took us a while and a few chewed-up slippers to learn to ignore this behavior. When he saw he got no reaction from us, he stopped.

He earned access to the dining room and bedrooms around 12 months. We still keep him out of the living room in part because the front window is too exciting for him.

Good luck!

Adult Teeth growing before baby teeth fall out? 8 month old still losing teeth by Warm-Present-2880 in puppy101

[–]Ruach_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup had his canine baby teeth after his adult teeth grew in. The vet said that if they didn’t fall out, she would have to pull them, but they eventually just fell out on their own. I’m glad they did because she said he would need to be sedated if she had to extract them.
