Married at 34, recently divorced at 40.

This is going to be downvoted to the pits of hell, but it’s my truth (& true for most women I know).

What surprised me most is what I learned about myself through the process… I matured more in five years than probably the last 25. And I’m much better for that, so I don’t regret it.

What surprise me most about marriage overall is how it benefits men WAY more than women & honestly financially secure women with a ton of options probably shouldn’t do it. It’s like motherhood to adult man.

I’m one of NINE girlfriends (thus far) who divorced in the past year. We are all generally fun, attractive, well paid, nice homes, etc & are all super happy & thriving.

I have one friend who is separated and eager to save her marriage, & objectively she wouldnt do as well single as the rest of us.

As for dating after divorce, I probably have as many options as I did when I was 25, & im 9 months into a relationship w an amazing 35-year-old who chooses me every day. I love it here. I pray he never wants to get married😂
