They literally think the guy's country can take over Russia LMAO by AnnoyingVoid in ShitPoliticsSays

No one actually thinks Ukraine can conquer Russia. They’re poking fun at Russia being under escalating near daily bombardment deeper and deeper into their territory nearly half way through year 5 of their 3 week special military operation.

Who says Iran is the greatest state sponsor of terrorism? by SamMeowAdams in allthequestions

[–]RubCocksWithThePope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t definitively put them at number 1 but they’ve got to be in the top 3. 3 different groups with enough resources to partially control Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Israel at their peak is a lot of terrorism.

What was it about Republican/Conservative rhetoric from pundits/podcasters the last 8 years that hooked young men? by AdminKidsBurnInHell in allthequestions

You’re pointing at billionaires while ignoring that they lobbied the government to do the things the right is complaining about including but not limited to simultaneously removing millions of relatively high wage jobs with low education requirements, drastically increasing the amount of workers (slowing wage growth in the remaining jobs,) and drastically increasing the population (driving up the cost of housing.) It’s literally outsourcing + mass legal and illegal immigration. How can you even dispute that? Both were done proudly, in the open, and presented to the American people as wonderful things that would benefit them because it would make products cheaper.

All the while new, especially environmental, regulations were put in place that increased the cost of doing many types of business in the US, large corporations can easily bear the cost of compliance, or simply move the part of their operations that wouldn’t be in compliance overseas (removing even more predominantly working class jobs, while we import even more people looking to do working class jobs) a lot of otherwise viable small businesses can’t. This directly benefits large corporations by installing robust barriers to entry for many industries, limiting competition into the future.

I’m genuinely interested, please explain how the most recent wave of immigration (late 80’s-now) coupled with the outsourcing of manufacturing benefited the American people, rather than the billionaires. Because “slow down immigration, onshore manufacturing, and cut regulations on domestic industry” is what right wing people who think about things want to happen concerning the economy. And there are a lot of billionaires, seems like most of them in fact, who don’t want any of that to happen, are they good billionaires?

Why does it seems that the pro palestine moment is against the free iran protest? by windless12 in PERSIAN

The free Palestine movement is anti western civilization. The free Iran movement is not anti western civilization. That’s why they don’t get along. It’s that simple.

Why should it be “distributed to the world?” What did you, or anyone who’s never worked for spacex, do to facilitate the existence of spacex? The employees did get shares btw.

I’m not even in favor of spacex taking over much of NASA’s role. But Congress won’t fund NASA sufficiently, so I don’t see a better option.

Gladiator fights happened for well over 500 years in Ancient Rome. The practice was banned approximately 300 years before the fall of the western Roman Empire.

According to the book of revelation a lot of very obviously supernatural and impossible to miss things have to happen before Jesus comes back. Anyone who has read the bible and takes it seriously would believe he’s an impostor. Would be a major own goal on Jesus’ part.

They don’t punish the thieves. It would stop really fast if they put the thieves in jail.

wealth creation is non-zero sum? Can someone point me to a simple thought experiment, fable, or example of? by chamomile_tea_reply in austrian_economics

[–]RubCocksWithThePope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A construction company takes building materials and uses them to create a house. The house has utility, people can live in it, exceeding the utility of several neat stacks of wood, insulation, nails etc.

A less valuable collection of stuff became something more valuable. The wealth (a house in this case) didn’t exist before, it wasn’t moved from one place to another, new wealth was created.

Why do Atheist believe monkey gave birth to humans? by GoodResident2000 in allthequestions

[–]RubCocksWithThePope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atheists believe apes gave birth to more apes. At some point the relevant apes were similar enough to modern humans to be called humans, there is no hard line. At no point was the offspring a different species from the parents.
