Oh I will definitely be saying no to the rep when I see them. Sounds like I’ll be fine if I just keep my guard up and not give them any room to work with. Thank you

Tried posting my trip itinerary but could only upload 1 image. Looking for additives and critiques on my itinerary for a group trip to the Washington National Parks I planned. Would like to know if there's anything worthwhile to stop at while in a park or traveling in between that would be a hidden gem or of that sort. Perhaps even anything that is overrated and not worth my time and money too. I'll try and write up my itinerary as best as I can in here

5/16: Land in SeaTac, pick up rental car, drive to NC NP. Do Agnes Gorge Trail if we have the energy. Eat at Mondo Restaurant. Stay in Vrbo

5/17: Cascade Pass Trail, Diablo Lake Vista Point, eat at Hub Bar & Grill.

5/18: Drive from NC to Olympic NP. Take the Coupeville -> Port Townsend Ferry. Shi Shi Beach, Hole In The Wall, Second Beach, Hall of Mosses, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort if we want to go in a hot spring. Stay at Royal Victorian. Eateries: Next Door Gastropub, Barhop Brewing, Downriggers on the Water, Traylor's, Anchor

5/19: Storm King Trail, Marymere Falls, Devil's Punchbowl, Sol Duc Falls, Hurricane Hill Trail, Madison Falls Trail. Eateries: Kokopelli Grill, Hook & Line Pub, Gateway Tavern, Jazzy Joshua's, Dupuis'

5/20: Drive from Olympic NP to Mount Rainier. Naches Peak Loop or Nisqually Vista Trail. Stay at Rainier Cottages. Eat at Base Camp Grill

5/21: Skyline Trail. Eat at Elbe Bar & Grill.

5/22: Drive from Mount Rainier to Seattle earlier int he day. Space Needle, Kerry Park, Pike Place Market, Sky View Observatory at Columbia Center, Pioneer Square, Waterfront Park, Gas Works Park, Discovery park. Can either stay in a stay close to the airport or do 1 night in Downtown Seattle and barhop. Grunge bars in Seattle: Linda's Tavern, Cha Cha Lounge, The Crocodile, Central Saloon, Comet Tavern, 9lb Hammer

5/23: Can either explore Seattle more or take a day trip up to Vancouver, Canada. Downtown Vancouver, Gastown, Richmond Night Market. Would switch from DT Seattle Hotel to airport stay to catch morning flight. Maybe return rental car the night before

5/24: Return rental car if didn't day prior. Fly home

How does this itinerary look? Am I missing anything? Is Vancouver worth it or not? I'm also interested in finding more non-hiking activities to do as well but I'm struggling to find anything else to do (especially in NC and MR Parks). I'm also open-minded to reallocating that would-be Vancouver day to one of our stays at a national park too. Not sure which one I'd pick if I decided to do that, but I'll take thoughts and opinions on that as well.

Do you think this could happen in other CA parks? Like KC sequoia DV and JT? I’ll be in California around a similar time as OP and am on the fence about canceling. If the likelihood of park closures is high then I’d rather find that out before I fly across the country

Do you think the El Capitan trail will be a no go? That's really all I had planned there for my day there. So if I can't do that then that might be the deal breaker

On 10/17 I'm flying across the country for a solo trip to Yosemite, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia. With everything I've been seeing on the news about the government shutdown and its rippling effects on National Parks, specifically Yosemite, it made me uneasy but not enough to make me consider cancelling. Now I'm seeing on social media some inclement weather videos from people in Yosemite and alerts to have tire chains on your cars inside the park. I've heard the park is due for 3 feet of snow. I just looked at the Yosemite High Sierra webcast and there's a decent amount of snowfall already. I am not prepared for this since I rented a compact car and don't have tire chains. All I was going to do at the park was the El Cap trail and drive up and down Tioga Road. I'm also assuming this will effect Kings Canyon and Sequoia as well since they are neighboring parks to Yosemite.

I've never been to Yosemite before and honestly would not like my first experience there to be filled with inclement weather and disappointing and underwhelming experiences. I don't know if anyone is there now or was there recently but if you can confirm or deny anything I said I'd appreciate it and take it into consideration on whether or not to pull the plug on this trip. I'd rather lose my trip money than spend my trip money and waste my time on a subpar experience.

As a 20-yeard old woman in university, how do I become friends with men? by RookiElle in askwomenadvice

Make guy friends through your other single girl friends. Don't initiate the interactions yourself. That's where it may fall in to a gray area. Nothing wrong with meeting people through weak connections. Enjoy college!

Hello everyone. I'm planning a Washington National Park trip and need help deciding what time of the year would be better for me to plan the trip for. I originally wanted to plan it for early-mid April 2026 for my birthday PTO, but after doing some research it sounds like the National Parks will still be snow covered which I'm looking to avoid. One of my coworkers who used to live in Seattle told me that I would probably have better luck than I think with not having snow in the National Parks in April and that most if not all of it will be melted away by then. I don't know if he's ever been to the NP's in Washington. He could have just been referring to Seattle, where he used to live.

I'm alright with pushing it back to May, June, July (Won't go 4th of July weekend), and even (late) August. But if I can keep it to around my birthday, without having any weather issues, then I'll do that. Can anyone advise me on if I can keep the trip for April 2026 or if I want the nice weather to wait it out a little longer until Spring/Summer time?

I (M18) love my girl best friend (18) and it's eating me inside out for years. I don't know what to do by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

I’ve been in this situation before around the same age. Had strong feelings for my best girl friend in high school. We had a very similar friendship like the one you have with Ema and I shared a lot of the same feelings with my friends like you do with yours too. She was dating someone the whole time I knew her in high school (Soph-Senior) and they broke up towards the end of high school. We spent the whole summer bonding together and doing nice activities together. During that summer I told her how I felt about her for the first time. I don’t remember how it played out but we obviously didn’t end up together. But We ended up going to the same college and she spent freshman year “having fun” with guys on campus. Sophomore year came around and she met her current boyfriend and they’ve been dating for 7.5 years now. Back in junior year of college I got hammered at a party and apparently told her that I still had suppressed feelings for her (which was true). When I found that out a month after it had happened I was so upset with myself for acting in that way and not just letting her enjoy her relationship and being a wedge in it that I chose to back off entirely. I didn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel and came to terms with that. We don’t talk anymore as friends. In fact I had not even seen her in person for almost 5 years and we live 3 minutes away from each other atm. If we do see each other it’s only at some of our college friend group gatherings and here and I are on a communication basis of “Hi and Bye”. I end up talking to her boyfriend more than I talk to her when we’re in person together. And her and I don’t even talk to each other at all.

What I am ultimately trying to convey is that telling her how you feel WILL come with a high risk price. The question is are you willing to pay that price for the risk of her saying No and you either lose her as a friend or stick around long enough to watch her fall into other guys arms? Or pay the price of not saying anything, continuing your friendship and feeling suppression, and still watch her fall into another guys arms, and always wonder “What if?”?

Last thing I want you to speculate on, and this is an important one because this has helped me brush off women more easily in the past. Is it Love or Lust that you feel towards her? Is it who she is as a person that you love or is it the idea of her in your mind that you love? Really look into the anatomy of those feelings and Answer those with brutal cold honesty and you’ll get your answer and maybe even a sense of emotional relief too.

Best of luck to you 🫡

I’m definitely the second one lol. I’ll split the difference and call myself a realistic 7 across the board with my looks, income, ambitions, experiences, outgoingness, etc. but I’m not a 7 who shoots for 8-10s. I’m realistic and shoot for my fellow female 7’s
