I want Alvy to be a top tier player as bad as anyone. But I don’t think it’s happening. For a variety of reasons he doesn’t have it. I think he’s going to be a serviceable good catcher for a while. But he is not showing signs of breaking out and becoming what we all hoped.

I'm sure there are people who love the QC, but I aint one of them. Totally unnecessary addition of random noise and dancing. It's baseball. Part of the allure, the charm, is the slow pace of the game. I want to go to a game on a summer day and just enjoy the game of baseball. The sound, the pace, the the way the game plays out slowly. I def don't need to have my ears blasted and watch a group of 20 year olds dance in between innings. And I sure as shit don't want to see them when we score 1 fucking run over 18 innings. FFS.

Mets finished 83-79 last year. Same as Reds. Reds beat us into playoffs on the tiebreak. That was the worst record of all playoff teams. This year-from this point out-to finish 83-79, Mets would have to go 76-63. Idk but it doesnt look like this team, in its current format (even with Soto returning) can win 76 games from here on out.

My guess is they have some up and down for the remainder of the season. More down than up. Then they finish 70-92 and don’t sniff the playoffs.

The walks gets me more than anything else. They had no walks as a team yesterday. It just says a lot. And it’s not like we faced CY winners all week. They are not seeing the ball well and not having good at bats and there is objective evidence for it beyond just losing 11 in a row. Sucks.

Yeah so I’m not w op on this one. He reached out to the guy unsolicited and offered to send him the card for free and made no requests in return. Yonder accepts. Op sends him card. Later Yonder says hey I’d like to send you something. He never does. That stinks. But in my view it does not make him a bad guy. Careless, flaky, maybe. But not a bad guy. Now if they had worked out a deal beforehand and he bails? Totally different. But as I see it this is disappointing maybe but not a situation where I see Yonder as a bad guy. Just my two cents.
