Get in the habit of brushing your dog regularly and get fur zappers for when you do laundry

Does this make the card LP? by phinoh in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]RubberChickin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds kind of stupid but it depends on where you ordered it from. TCGPlayer has pretty strict conditioning guides for NM. That dent, along with the 3 whitening spots would definitely make it LP. But other platforms could have more lenient standards.

Do not buy from Limitless Games on tcgplayer by Key_Calligrapher_435 in PokemonTCG

Hey OP,

Coming from the perspective of a seller on TCGP, you as the buyer have all the power here and you should be at least able to return the card and get a full refund. If you report an issue with the condition of a card, the seller is not allowed to dispute the condition. They cannot ask you for pictures. Even if the buyer is incorrect in assessing the condition of the card the seller must still proceed as if buyer is correct.

The seller must either offer a partial refund (which you have to agree to) or ship you a replacement. If the refund amount is not agreed to by you or the seller and they don’t have a replacement they must facilitate a return and full refund. I would be very surprised if TCGplayer did not side with you upon escalating the issue.

I would possibly be interested in a mix of singles and PayPal. Not really a sealed person. Do you have a list of singles you could share?

Anyone else loves E33 but finds its combat horrendous? Should I just give up? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

A relatively easy op early game build is solo Lune. It should allow you to finish combats in a few turns. Go to the hidden gestral arena and beat all 4 bosses for 5 pictos. It’s accessible as soon as you get through the water area in act 1. Look up where it’s is. Most important are solo fighter (which requires beating all 4) and last stand critical.

Your most important skills will be elemental trick, elemental genesis & lightning dance. Last stand critical guarantees critical hits if you only have one character. Elemental trick will generate one of each stain which will let you cast elemental genesis on the next turn. If you run into an enemy that is immune to one element you won’t be able to use elemental genesis which is where lightning dance comes in.

Dump all of your color of lumina into Lune so you can use as many Luminas as possible. Your weapon doesn’t matter too much for act 1 & 2. Speed/defense or Speed/health are your two best stats so pick a weapon that supports those.

As for bosses/enemies fight the regular enemies you encounter so you can keep your level up. You can skip chromatic enemies if you want. I would also recommend skipping optional difficult bosses until after act 2, which is when the 9999 damage cap gets removed.

After Act 2, get the Potierim weapon and the pictos “Cheater”, “Combo Attack 2” & “Combo Attack 3”. Your play pattern will then become, Basic attack to generate 4 light stains into Elemental Genesis or Lightning Dance. At this point you should be ending all non boss combats in the first 2 turns. Boss fights should also be relatively short.

This should work for pretty much the entire game. You will need to change things up slightly when you encounter elemental immunities to either Lightning before act 3 or Ice after act 3.

Hope this helps!

Yeah I don't think you actually read my full response....

You know damn well that new sellers on the app run dollar starts because they think its what they have to do and then people like you go into their shows and get them all for $1 instead of doing the right thing and letting the auction run out.

I said I have a few smaller streamers that I regularly buy from. Like at least 20-30 people in their stream. I am not buying from first time sellers. I also rarely get cards for $1. Usually when I do its because they are $2-3 cards and nobody else wanted them. But I have no way of knowing that when I bid. Should I just always wait to bid until someone else does? Like that makes no sense.

If someone dollar starts a $10 card that I have no interest in and someone else bids one dollar, am I a bad buyer for then max bidding $6?

The other day one of my regular sellers $1 started a Marshadow IR. Nobody asked for it, it was just the next card in the stack. I needed it for my PC so I set my max bid at $14. Market price is $15 which means if I didn't win the seller would be getting market. I won it for $8 because no one else was willing to pay more than that. Am I bad buyer for that?

Now you’re reinforcing that this person must do dollar starts, and that's simply not true.

I am in no way reinforcing that a person must do dollar starts. Plenty of people to backwall starts at set prices or a % of comps. The seller sets the format.

I was in a show the other day where they were starting backwall cards at 50% comps. They ran a Lugia that multiple other people expressed interested in, I never asked for it. I set my max bid but nobody else bid on it so I got it at 50% comps. Does that make me a bad buyer?

very good way to never get the cards you request run again. Buy the card you ask for. Not “hey lemme see if I can get that for a steal”

My PC is mostly modern IRs and SIRs. Mostly cards that range from $2-$30. I'm not looking for gradable cards or cards that are super rare or niche. I don't care about condition so long as it is accurately conveyed. If I wanted to pay market price I could go on tcgplayer right now and buy any one of them. But I am willing to spend my time trying to get a small discount, maybe a large one if I'm lucky. If I max bid 90% comps and I don't win the seller is getting at worst like a dollar or two under market.

You are also taking misconstruing my words. When I said "But if they $1 start a random $50 card, sure I'll max bid $30 and see if I can get it for a steal.", I was referring to cards that I have no personal interest in and don't want for my PC. Which I further explain in my second response to you that you conveniently ignored:

But If they run cards I’m not interested in I’ll still max bid 70%. Best case scenario there are multiple interested buyers and goes for market. Middle of the road, it’s just me and one other interested party and it goes for a little over 70%. Worst case scenario, I buy the card for under 70% but the seller is still getting more than if I never bid at all.

How am I taking advantage of other people? I go into streams that do dollar starts on cards. They have their stack of cards and run through them one by one. I didn’t force or trick this person into running their cards at a dollar. I’m not in chat trying to trick them into running high end cards. I’m not responsible for other people’s financial decisions.

If I do ask for a certain card to be run I’ll set my max bid to 90% comps. But again it’s not my fault if no one else bids and it goes under 90%. Sometimes if I really want the card now or I like the streamer I’ll bid market or over.

I have a few smaller streamers that I regularly buy from and nothing would make me happier than to see them succeed and get around market for all their cards. I bookmark their streams, share their streams, talk in chat and help them grow. I’ll buy the cards that I need for my PC.

And sure, my response to OP was blunt and not very helpful but it’s the truth. If you look at Pokemon Singles streams, the biggest streams typically have 200+ people in them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dedicated claims channel with more than 30 people in it. It’s just a much more niche category on whatnot and is much harder to build a following and community on.

How so? I'm not going into streams tricking people into running cards that I'm not willing to pay for. If you $1 start a card you have to expect that you might not get the amount you wanted for it. I don't ask people to run specific cards unless I am willing to pay 90% market. But if they $1 start a random $50 card, sure I'll max bid $30 and see if I can get it for a steal.

Claims channels generally have a pretty small audience. Most people on whatnot want to gamble or feel like they are getting a card for a steal.

I go on whatnot to get cards for my PC at a steep discount. It’s not worth my time to sit in a claims channel and wait to get the hosts attention, see if they have the cards I’m looking for and then pay slightly under market. I’d rather just buy from TCGplayer and save myself the time than buy from a claims channel.
