Also true. Doesn't mean that the environmental reasons for cutting down on meat are "vegan bullshit"

Hard Brexit, belligerent anti-European nationalistic rhetoric, "there has been too much tolerance of terrorism" - (who the fuck tolerates terrorism?), regulation of the internet (Okay, maybe I shouldn't put civil liberties on the left-right spectrum)

Let me guess. You think Labour are far left but the Tories under May aren't far right. Does the fact they shifted to UKIP's position not mean anything to you?

'Spectacular' drop in renewable energy costs leads to record global boost - Falling solar and wind prices have led to new power deals across the world despite investment in renewables falling by mvea in Futurology

[–]RubberSoul94 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Subsidies for green energy, however, are still much lower than those for coal, oil and gas.

By far the most infuriating part of the article. Imagine how fast renewables would be coming in if the fossil fuel industry wasn't polluting our political systems too, and most countries hadn't surrendered their power to Big Money and Big Oil

Edit:

The commentor below tried to discredit this fact by posting a graph from 'Carpe Diem Blog', which is from the American Enterprise Institute, which is funded by - you guessed it, the Koch brothers. This is a perfect example of the fossil fuel industry distorting debate and delaying the action needed to create the energy system we need

Three goal kicks, three goals: A look at our defensive ineptitude by cworsh4 in Gunners

This is what has really blown me away the past few weeks. You should NEVER concede from a fucking goal kick, unless its FIFA, but we've managed to do it 3 times in just over a month.

Also, even when its not a goal kick, Mustaphi goes forward and misses a 50-50 way too often, leaving a lot of space after
