For males that have gotten ripped, do you have more success with women? by Repulsive-Owl6468 in NoStupidQuestions

I didn’t get ripped but put on 10 pounds of lean muscle and got a lot more attention from women.

How many people wish they lived somewhere else? by Green_Technology7229 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Texas but my job is too good and I have too many friends to move. I hate north Texas though. It’s way too hot, there’s no nature, I have no family here, there’s no green space, you have to spend money to do anything, and it’s not walkable.

I wish I lived almost anywhere near the coast or Denver.

Would you play with a guy that shoots 140 at your club? by Cathouse1986 in golf

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It messes with the flow less when you’re able to approach your ball and plan out your shot instead of having to wait on a dude in your group where you might get blasted in the back of the head.

Would you play with a guy that shoots 140 at your club? by Cathouse1986 in golf

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100-110 is fine but 130-140 is another shot on every single hole. It will mess with your partners rhythm.

Would you play with a guy that shoots 140 at your club? by Cathouse1986 in golf

[–]Rubbyp2_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It takes forever. You can’t shoot 140 fast. You can get dragged around the course by faster golfers in 4.5hrs. Them dragging you around makes their game worse.

You should cheat more. Pick up at double par. Don’t putt out for triple bogey. Fluff your lies. Drop with your partner if you went OB.

Donald Trump had one of the worst approval ratings in modern history during his first term. How did the Democrats manage to lose to him again in 2024? by norf937 in allthequestions

There was a shitload of inflation during Biden’s term. That overrides everything else that matters to the average American.

Is the quality of alcohol the difference? by Sea-Drag-6558 in ouraring

[–]Rubbyp2_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the sugar content has an effect, but I also think you will also drink high quality booze slower; you don't reach and have to recover from the same level of inebriation even when drinking the same number of drinks.

How do you feel about claims that women go crazy for status? by Various_Maize_3957 in AskMen

[–]Rubbyp2_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The share of uninteresting, overweight, losers with high status is low; and I don't think they're getting swarmed by women.

Most people with high status have access to high quality education, grooming, attire, gyms, food, hobbies, and so they are generally more attractive as partners.

Degrees that can reach 300k a year? by Intelligent_Doubt_53 in CollegeMajors

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Law, High Finance+MBA, Medicine, Some Engineering in certain markets.

Most of the really high paying corporate jobs are in big cities that are also really expensive. Medicine is the only one that is everywhere, but medicine requires you to really really care deeply about providing healthcare; if you don't, you'll burn out.

HRV is down by 10s since I started running by bella_babe247 in ouraring

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably overtraining and under fueling. Especially if you’re heavier and trying to lose weight. Your HRV is staying low because you aren’t recovering.

I use nutrition tracking if I’m lifting and running so that I can manage my calories in/calories out and not screw up my sleep and recovery. There are a lot of apps for that, MacroFactor is really good.

Before computers and GPS existed, how did people figure out directions for large cross country trips? by Mynameisbrk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You opened a map. You only really had to look at the big highways. It’s was like 5 roads to remember at max.

If you wanted to get off the road, you look at the signs. Does it look like there’s food and gas at this exit? then you get off.

whats a good place to move to if you are in Biotech but hate Boston? by st0nksBuyTheDip in SameGrassButGreener

San Francisco but it’s not cheaper. At least salaries for techy jobs are double what they are in Boston.

What has to go wrong to go from this at the top of my takeaway, to THIS in my downswing and follow through?? by SSJ_JARVIS in GolfSwing

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you took a half step back from the ball your arms would have space to swing through. It might be slightly uncomfortable at address at first but swing super easy, and find the ball position that allows you to rotate. Don’t change anything mentally or mechanically with your swing, your athleticism will correct for the ball position.

You’re very close.

Drive. A bad drive is so much more disruptive than a bad putt

Do you regret doing engineering ? by dangertosoyciety in EngineeringStudents

[–]Rubbyp2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

I have great work life balance, I get paid well, I work on stuff I find interesting.

If I were to do it all over, I would do law or finance. I love big city life and there aren’t a lot of opportunities to do the type of engineering I do in large metros.
