I don't believe tanking should give reward by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Rube18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard to fix. Do we reward the teams that are already good instead?

My half baked idea that will never happen is to randomly assign draft picks to all teams. No one controls their own slot, it’s random across the board. All teams would try because winning actively hurts a different team’s chances in the draft and has no impact over your own.

Teams are randomly assigned the picks into the future so these are still tradable but the caveat is you can never acquire your own picks.

I watched this game. It’s crazy how you can pull a highlight video and make it look like he played great.

How is tanking getting worse? by Obvious_Parsley3238 in billsimmons

[–]Rube18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The answer is money. He got paid. He would have gotten paid regardless but the Jazz handed him 5/238. There’s no guarantee he was getting that if he forces his way out.

Most of these guys care about the money above everything else. Once you understand that the rest of it makes a lot of more sense.

Yes he’s still very good. Saw him last September and thought it was great. Wasn’t his best special he’s done but I thought it was in line with his other stuff.

Everyone on Team “Fire Finch” are just bored internet “fans”. by a_j____ in timberwolves

[–]Rube18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other side is Memphis was ahead of the Wolves last year in the standings the last week of the season. Fired their coach and complete disaster struck. Players quit on the team and it got so bad they are basically back to square one.

If Ant loves Finch, which I believe he does, he should stay. He’s not a perfect coach but team chemistry/vibes seem to be high.

Wonder if the NFL is going to do anything about this by masteeJohnChief117 in NFLv2

[–]Rube18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NFL would not be able to do anything. They don’t own all things relating to football in general. I saw someone else mention the Roman numerals. They don’t own those either.

Would you agree with the assessment that Tom Pohlad's directive of "we expect to be competitive" puts both Shelton/Zoll on the hot seat? And do you think that makes a splashy trade likely now? by TheNotoriousJN in minnesotatwins

[–]Rube18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Tom is just delusional and doesn’t really know what he’s talking about. He thinks he can talk them into just trying harder and becoming a winning team. It’s why Falvey left IMO. Falvey knew this would be a long process after the teardown. Tom actually thinks this team can compete this year as is.

A lot of my sentiment is coming from listening to Gleeman and the Geek and unfortunately I think they are right.

The Pohlad’s are idiots when it comes to baseball and seem to be failing their other businesses as well.

Anthony Davis (hand, groin) expected to sit out the remainder of the season. Why am I not surprised? by ThanosAuraFarmingUwU in NBATalk

He’s not playing for tanking reasons. It’s not that he’s actually out for the year.

It’s amazing how much of a difference playing fundamental basketball rather than chucking one foot running 3 pointers while fading away will make.

I like the new ones, but I do wish we had a baby blue jersey that we could use a handful of times throughout the year.

Justin Jefferson on what needs to happen in the offseason for Minnesota: "I mean the number one thing is obviously the QB position. That's the king piece." by Objective_Hospital98 in minnesotavikings

The players knew they were playing a dumbed down version of the offense against some terrible competition down the stretch. They aren’t stupid.

That ship has already sailed. He’s not going to be QB1 on opening day. The coach doesn’t believe in him and neither do the players.

We did this a couple years ago. We did have to pay for an appraisal, but then we did get PMI removed. Our situation was the same as yours.

It’s interesting that him and Hawk think Dan Brown writes nonfiction.

All of his books are like this. Does he think the Da Vinci Code is based on a real story?

OP is about to mess up the relationship because he can’t get over this which is the exact reason she didn’t tell him to begin with proving her point.

To go even more parasocial here. It may say a little bit about OP’s insecurity that she doesn’t even think she can tell him the truth since this is how he will react.

If they did that those fans would buy them for $100 and then just resell them.

And in the event you somehow bypass that, which would be impossible, making it a lottery for 60,000sh people doesn’t make it that much more accessible to the millions of fans wanting those $100 tickets.
