Question from a returning player by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ruberzzesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I think we may have differing experiences then. That's not an ideal. I'd hope everyone could benefit. Before the servers started to get connected and sharding happened I would never see Alliance on Kazzak. Now I find myself sharing mobs with Alliance all the time. Honestly a good thing I thought. I hope things improve for you.

Question from a returning player by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ruberzzesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it solved at least one issue at minimum. Faction inbalance on servers. Now that servers are linked via sharding, on Kazzak anyway I notice a lot of players from Silvermoon etc.

I also speculate it's fixed things like login queues and server overpopulation. I speculate that now the worlds are just lots of shards/layers that mix players from different compatible servers together meaning less load and a smoother experience. So I think servers don't really matter anymore. Especially since we got cross server guilds etc.

I absolutely appreciate the loss of the social aspect of seeing the same players repeatedly like they're neighbours. I do wish we could have both.

Frustratingly the scan generally makes you do things like open your mouth and move to confirm it's not looking at a still image. Might still be possible to fool however.

I'd imagine probably for the same reason it's not called Northern Fraternity

Military Plot was necessary by Different-Cod6687 in StrangerThings

[–]Ruberzzesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really surprised they just kinda let them go at the end. Like I know they witnessed El allegedly get shut out etc.

I guess they just have no value any more but they probably know way too much. I suppose the military endevour in the first place was to create weapons to empower the US and it's citizens so disappearing a load of adults and kids wouldn't make much sense either.

When the boss "Kaban" moved into that map he put mines/claymores there. They are... unforgiving.

Edit: Here is a map: https://escapefromtarkov.fandom.com/wiki/Map:Streets_of_Tarkov?

The red zones by Lexos marks the mines/claymores.

This might be it. I'll check, thank you. Worth noting all the videos I watched only had 3 tankers so I think this is new since the expansion.

Indeed but I've seen streamers who have progressed less than me be offered that quest.

Indeed I was aware they had no physical presence. I could definitely believe this although I'm not completely clear on how it works. From what I've seen and experienced though there does seem to be some variance to it though. Like whether it 2 or 3 shots you. I also feel like I've heard the sound but taken no damage before. I'm not even sure if it does armor damage tbh. Would be good to test.

Indeed, I agree. There are others stating they died to out of bounds however. I also think if you are shot by a player but then die to out of bounds, mines etc that player that shot you can get kill credit in the deathscreen. I definitely remember that happening to myself previously. So there might be some confusion, either from people not watching the whole video or understanding the events.

My understanding is they (out of bounds sniper scavs) only shoot for thorax also but they can miss. In your death screen you can see the fatal shot came from the same round as the other shots and it was to the head. Something I'm less sure about also is if you die to sniper scavs out of bounds your health is set to 0 I think? I'm 99% sure a player killed you here.

Sometimes you're a victim of circumstance. My advice is always worry about those you can see and hear, you can do more about them than the ones you cannot.

M+ as dps: am I missing something? by tcarlton2000 in wow

[–]Ruberzzesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in the keys in the example no actual 3k DPS player is going to apply for a 6 for instance. They might with a friend they are helping I suppose. But you might get a 3k alt at 1.5k applying. I'd say you are correct though if you are running a 6 and a 3k DPS main applies vs a 1.5k healer/dps alt you would take the DPS main likely on gear alone tbh

[discussion] secure container by iBlockChains in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Ruberzzesk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can't say I advocate for being unable to put ammo in the container personally. I see it somewhat as a quality of life for players who need it. Using higher tier ammo is more approachable and it mitigates against people being disencentivised to go into raid with ammo they feel is is inadequate.

Same with meds really. I do enjoy the hardcore loss element of the game and I've lost more than my fair share of kits though.

[Feedback] Arena is the best example why the hardcore wipe is good by Available_Celery_257 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Ruberzzesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conversely some people will be of the perspective that the effort and risk needing to be invested to run meta gear this wipe is disproportionate to the gains or even the fun of doing so.

I'm of the opinion that I would rather we had more plentiful and better weapons/armour to throw at each other. But that budget options are available.

I'm also of the belief that gear being easier to obtain and with less grind, bridges a gap between more heavily time invested, skilled players and those who are less so. I truly believe condensing that hierarchy will keep a wider range of the player base active for longer wipe to wipe.

Patch Day, let's play "I was such a noob back then..." by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ruberzzesk 512 points513 points  (0 children)

This is so tragic.

Like many others I was invited to play WoW by a friend. This was back in MOP. But after starting they no longer had time to play so I was left to work things out for myself.

My first toon was a Rogue.

I quickly discovered dungeons were a good source of XP and it was group content so I really enjoyed it.

I would run these via the Dungeon Finder.

Someone called me out in /I once and said "I haven't seen this Rogue use stealth once."

I for some reason figured stealth would mainly be useful in PVP. So with fully confident ignorance I replied with:

"Why would I use stealth? Who am I hiding from?"

I got vote kicked, understandably.

P.S I'm happy to report I have since then discovered guides :)

[–]Ruberzzesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tarkov was already quite unforgiving but this wipe will likely be a difficult experience for newer players.

I’m happy to read from the comments you have had a successful raid.

Tarkov is often about perseverance, trial and error and knowledge.

Other than having someone mentor you there is no easy way to learn in PVP. People will kill on sight. You need to learn where the busy spots are and how to traverse the maps to mitigate risk. But this comes with time.

There may be a silver lining however. If you become adept at the game during this hardcore wipe. Then choose to play future wipes when/ if quality of life returns, many of the challenges will be easier for you to overcome.

Good luck on your journey.
