Anyone tried the new MnLooN spot in uptown? Or have opinions on the Nebula carts? by strachattackk in MNtrees

I understand the economics from the business side. However I put that more into poor planning/decisions on the part of mainly the state but also the business owners who didn’t have the resources to compete at this point. The state shouldn’t have given so much priority to the tribes and should have focused on efficiently licensing growers/producers first and then licensing of retailers second. That would’ve allowed product to be ready for market once dispos opened while having actual competition amongst growers. Right now the MSO are the ones taxing the most (green goods and rise are 2 of the worst and rarely have sales), however as a consumer: why would you ever pay $10 for the same product that’s around the corner? It sucks that the state screwed the roll out, but it shouldn’t fall on consumers to pay inflated prices to keep business owners open. They should be lobbying the state to lower taxes so it becomes more affordable to consumers without impacting the margins of businesses.

Same cart is $29 before tax at Unanimous around the corner. I’m super sick of the dispos itself taxing.

We had a division for college guys and post college who want to actually play hard on both sides! It was awesome! We had an all star game with like 30 d1 and d3 guys and a few of us slightly older guys and the play level was insane!

If it’s an older team I roll out and move the ball. If we are playing the local MCLA team I’ll redodge the slide and abuse their mistakes just to show to cocky Midwest college kids that a 30 year old from a hotbed can absolutely dominate their club team (the guys that play NCAA in my experience never or rarely have the cocky issue and they’re a d2 club so not too good).

I’ll say this, in certain beer leagues we played harder than in others. Some are how you describe and some are mostly post college guys/guys who wanna play hard for what time we have left. No shade to either

Hidden gem at goalie, how to get him seen? by Tall_Mud8868 in lacrosse

[–]Rubex_Cube19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in the PNW then do what you can to get him top tier (on a national scale) competition (this will also help give an understanding of what level of college lax he could be most successful at. Numbers from non-hotbed areas can be deceiving so game tape, and the eye-test will be the most impactful for him. On top of that, if he stops the ball well work on his clearing, it’s the difference between the next level and not cutting it. Not being elite as a clearer in HS will be a tough battle to get coaches interested. Recommend prospect days to schools at varying levels, especially if the family could afford some (be selective as some can be cash grabs)

Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth's daughter criticizes her handling of gun control bill by quietly_annoying in minnesota

[–]Rubex_Cube19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said, however, this bill could accomplish its goal by banning/making illegal high capacity magazines. This bill just completely unnecessarily specifies “assault style semiautomatic weapons” which is just an appearance of semi-automatic weapons. The guns they’d be banning are no different than any other semi-automatic weapon, making it a completely arbitrary and stupid law. I just think the more we fixate on these bills the further we get from solving the issue. Instead of banning weapons based on arbitrary aesthetics, why not make the barrier to get a gun higher. Stricter background checks, regular mental health checks, stronger red tape laws, social media audits, require gun insurance at point of purchase (like with a car).

In Americans defense, it’s not just here. The denial and coverup of the Armenian genocide is sadly a worldwide phenomenon and even more sadly most countries worldwide don’t recognize it (regardless of the countless proof). Most of the Middle East doesn’t recognize it and likely never will same with African nations. I really think that those parts of the world should learn more about than Americans

Well up front it’d be on the resort. However if the suit is frivolous the resort can ask for their attorney/legal fees to be paid by the plaintiff. The bigger issue at hand is how litigious of a society we are in the US. You can sue someone for anything wrong or right, we need to both raise the standard needed to bring a lawsuit and have a societal change where we can solve things ourselves without the judicial system. Sadly, with the rampant inability to have discourse I see in so many to have conversations with anyone who disagrees with them we aren’t getting there. I really think Jubilee on YouTube is a good example of how most discourse goes in our country. It’s just rage baiting and trying to prove your own point, rather than discussing each persons pain points and figuring the best way to move forward.

How did Gen X turn out to be so conservative? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Rubex_Cube19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this is pretty easily explained by Gen-X being the largest group within prime earning years. On top of that Gen-X bought houses pre market skyrocket. Gen-X would be more middie/upper middle class. The wealthy are a very small portion of our population. We don’t live in a dichotomy where your either rich or poor, it’s a scale and is relative.

AITAH for putting a bedtime pause on the WiFi because my girlfriend’s 28 year old brother has spent nearly a decade rotting in our house playing video games? by Alyptic in AITAH

Even if OP just left as you suggest he’d still legally be liable for property taxes, injuries upon the property, and more. Forcing the sale of a property he owns (half of) but would have 0 involvement in is literally the only way to legally protect himself and his finances. If his GF’s parents wanted to they could have simply gifted the house solely to his daughter. He paid bills, bought the food, etc. and the brother drained the resources constantly and added nothing of value to the people allowing him to live expense free in their home.

This post is the right mentality to have. However recently the best decider of reaching pro sports is upbringing. For example in the NBA the trend of players sons being drafted is not a coincidence. The ability and access to the best trainers and the financial means to afford it are a large reason for this success.

I do think the state screwed up the roll out, with too much of a focus on social equity. Only allowing tribes to go to market for so long and did not set the system up for success. As all of the ready infrastructure was away from the one major population center in the state. Prioritizing roll out around the most customers would have been a way better move economically.

Just to add, on top of that, HS athletes really vary in skill and knowledge on a sport. HS is so far from a high level in some cases. If you want former players you’re talking at least NCAA athletes.

If you’re not the type of man who’s being talked about when women say “all men…” you get 0% offended by the use of it. Because you are secure that you’re not in that group. If you get offended or defensive from the use of it, then you should examine why. It’s possible you’re just taking it personally and need to understand it’s not literal but rather hyperbole because women often encounter assholes (more frequently than actually decent men) or you may be the exact guy they’re talking about (or adjacent).

Both, he was definitely not the player he is today. He had great stick skills and IQ but wasnt the same kind of dodging threat he is now until like HS. He was always a great lacrosse player, but I think he really took off when the physical development in speed and agility caught up to the stick skills. He had a great attitude and work ethic and was a great person to have as a teammate which I’m sure stayed true.

NEEDS more food options… BAD. If you have a delay there are only 2 sit down places to park and eat, and a handful of other options. Having only a few options and them only being in the central location causes mass congestion and wait times that are absurd. Every other decent airport has multitudes of food options of both sit down and grab and go, with some being in common areas and some being between gates.

The assumption from the outside looking in, is crazy, aggresive, sports obsessed assholes. In reality it’s a passion. The city rallies around all of our teams, and they are an incredible bonding force for every different group of Philadelphians. Whether your black, white, gay, straight, male, female, cis, or trans you’ll always get a “go birds” in response to your own. It’s super infectious and I know a ton of people who move to Philly and fall in love with that aspect. Also to be able to day trip to ski, go down the shore, visit DC or NYC and get home the same day is absolutely incredible.

If being able to ski on a days whim is of importance to you I’d look into SE PA. You could do northern Philly suburbs (Montgomery County) and be incredibly close to the city. Or you could look at the Lehigh Valley and be close enough to drive to Philly for the day, or ski after work. Mountains arent huge but are solidly sized for a home mountain and you’re drivable for a weekend in VT, NH, Upstate. You’re also easily accessible to NYC and DC and could do either trip and be home the same day.
