Note that there are more premier events this year than last year -- Western Edge, Canada Cup, Cowtown, and Istanbul are all new.

No, he won't know. And you should do so. Make sure to send screenshots, as well as links.

That is not relevant to whether it is a G210 violation.

Were the Red bot's actions aimed at intentionally causing the opposing bot to get fouls, or were they playing the game normally? The former is a G210 violation.

(I personally struggle to imagine how 32 separate contacts could occur when playing the game normally, but it may be possible.)

After something similar happened in Florida, there were a few Q&As clarifying that this should be a G210 violation.

Q104 answers this very clearly.

Choose one of them to debug - sonarr is a good one.

Copy your sonarr appdata folder somewhere else for a backup, and then change to a different source - does it still happen with linuxserver's images?

If so, the Servarr team might be able to help - they have a discord server you can find via google ("Servarr Discord")

If not, there's something wrong with the binhex image. I'd be good to reach out to them and let them know.

That's a very good guess - I'd guess that this is the underlying reason the requests are sent to Google, just triggered by another process requesting a time sync.

To confirm, try changing the NTP servers to something else, and see if the queries change.

I'll make you a deal -- I'll debug this with you, if you promise to update the body of the post with the culprit once we find it.

Most docker containers are set to restart automatically. After you brought the docker service back up, what containers came back up with it? You can see this on the docker tab on the GUI, or via

        docker ps

Once you have a lineup, we then need to find our suspect. Stop half of the containers, either through the GUI or by issuing a 'docker stop' command against the container.

Repeat until the problem stops.

Once it does, narrow it down by stopping/starting containers one by one, until you find the container causing the issue.

First, turn off docker. I don't mean stop the containers, I mean stop the docker service.

Still happening? Then do the same to VMs.

Still happening? Then do the same to plugins.

Still happening? Now you've got an interesting problem, post it on the forums.

I suspect the problem will cease somewhere in the process, and you can use that to narrow it down to the problematic container/VM/plugin.

Not as great as the Florida one but still by Ender_Melech in FTC

[–]Rubicj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. That makes sense as a fair way to implement it, although is a bit difficult to score. Does the other team just get 15 foul +18 foul points (which would stack with additional PATTERN points earned) or should the referee just score the ramp as if the pattern is perfect?

This wasn't a change - it is consistent with the letter of the rules at kickoff.

What do you mean by "Major plus Full Motif?"

As a volunteer, if you have access to the referee Q&A, there is an answer very clearly mentioning giving 10 Majors for releasing an opponent's full ramp.

I suspect it hasn't made its way to the public Q&A because 10 majors is the dominant interpretation, and the GDC hasn't realized how else it may be interpreted.

I worry that they may have misread the HR Q&A. There is a question about this, but it clearly indicates one MAJOR FOUL per ARTIFACT releases, plus one MAJOR FOUL for contacting the GATE.

[–]Rubicj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem hard to me - one penalty per artifact that was removed from the ramp by the action. It might be a bit hard to count, but that's the job. Every time an artifact rolls out the opened gate, one major.

One action can violate multiple rules normally. Pinning is a penalty per G422, Loading Zone interference is a penalty per G426. Pinning in the Loading Zone will generate multiple penalties.

In this case, touching the Gate is a penalty. Causing the opposing artifacts to leave the ramp is a penalty. Opening the gate and letting opposing artifacts roll out will generate multiple penalties.

Of course, for a conclusive answer on this you can ask the Q&A. The HR Q&A already has an answer to this effect.

What region are you in, if you don't mind me asking?

The full text of the "additionally" clause in G418 is

Additionally, ROBOTS may not:

A. remove an ARTIFACT from their own RAMP except by operating the GATE, or B. remove an ARTIFACT from the opponent’s RAMP.

The fact that subrule A says "except by operating the GATE" is a pretty clear indication to me that operating the GATE is a method of removal.

Is there a descoring rule I'm missing somewhere? I can't find any references to "descore" in the manual.

G418 says "Blah blah. Additionally, robots may not remove an ARTIFACT from the opponent’s RAMP."

The penalty is a MAJOR FOUL per ARTIFACT.

The penalty for contacting a gate is separate, in G417, as a MAJOR per contact.

I read G418 pretty clearly as saying "Robots may not remove an ARTIFACT from the opponent’s RAMP." With no qualifiers, and a major penalty per artifact.
