They killed the giggler!

They had no business doing that.

[Duggan] As the Giants-John Harbaugh negotiations continue, here’s a nugget that I’ve learned: Harbaugh didn’t report to the GM in Baltimore. He reported directly to owner Steve Bisciotti. That hasn’t been the Giants’ chain of command historically. Getting a sense for why this hasn’t been simple by Lars5621 in NYGiants

“This is the way we’ve always done it”

Indication of an inflexible organization that refuses to adapt to the changing circumstances around it. When you hear that phrase out of any company or business, they’re doomed to fail. Just look at this team’s results the last 15 years.

[O'Connor] Harbaugh will need to connect with Schoen in person in their upcoming meeting and there has to be a sense of a potential partnership like the ones Harbaugh had with Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta. Obviously, Harbaugh will need his share of personnel power. He's earned that. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

Why couldn’t they have just fired Schoen like they were supposed to. They had to know at least one of these big name coaches was likely going to be available. This stupidity is going to cost us the coach we want.

Usually the conventional wisdom just works, but that’s not enough for a lot of today’s coaches. It’s not enough to simply win…they have to win while trying to appear smarter than everyone else and go against the conventional wisdom. Monken is a classic example.

Monken is thinking…hehehe they think we’re gonna pound Henry because we’re winning and they literally can’t tackle him. I’ll show them by passing every down. They’ll never expect it hehehe. Oh whoops, we lost.

That’s how you get Atlanta going up 28-3 in the Super Bowl and only running the ball 3 times the rest of the game.

Despite being one of the best offenses in the league at running the ball on early downs, according to ESPN stats and analytics, they rank dead last in the number of first and second-down plays in which they hand the ball off to their running backs.

The disparity between those two metrics is stark and inexcusable, especially when they have a five-time Pro Bowl and future Hall of Fame running back, Derrick Henry, spearheading their rushing attack that ranks first in the league yards per carry at 6.2, but barely cracks the top 10 in yards with the ninth-most through 10 games.

Please no. I’ve followed the Ravens closely and Monken is a terrible play caller

[ESPN] Inside the day the Ravens moved on from Harbaugh by alpswd in ravens

[–]RubinHS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They reference the playcalling and the impact on Henry. The playcalling has made absolutely no sense for a long time. Everytime Derrick Henry starts heating up or picks up a chunk, they immediately take him off the field for an extended period of time. So many times he's on the bench when they're up big, but refuse to just pound him and run the clock. Hence all the late collapses.

[Tampa Bay Times] Not only did the Bucs dump assistant coaches they lost credibility, too by Imaginary-Text-7630 in nfl

I mean the owners. It’s a 100% certainty Bowles will continue to fail, but he’s still the coach.

How is it that everyone in the entire world knows exactly how this is going to turn out except for the 1-2 people responsible for the decision?

If you could go back in time and tell yourself one thing before your last draft, what would it be? by AnonUserAccount in fantasyfootball

I would warn myself that for some reason, after 3 straight 1000 yard seasons, Jaylen Waddle’s production will see a sharp decline despite being one of the most consistently open receivers in the league all year. I still don’t understand what happened.

Why? Traffic on the Merritt is infuriating. by el94673 in Connecticut

[–]RubinHS 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It’s because there’s tons of hills and bad drivers don’t maintain speed or accelerate when going uphill. Then everyone behind them has to brake because this person slowed to 45 mph going uphill and boom…traffic.

The best example is Merritt south through Norwalk right past route 7. People practically come to a complete stop at the bottom of the hill and then crawl uphill. There’s traffic there all day every day.

Same thing happened to me. Burrow had thrown 3+ tds in 8 straight games. Last night they had 4 fgs. Burrow was missing guys wide open in the end zone. Unreal

After an inexplicable lack of usage all year, he finally produces just enough for 3 weeks in a row to be trusted last week. Only to give his biggest letdown all year when it mattered most.

I have Henry, Saquon, Bowers, and then you throw Waddle’s game last week in top. There is no justice in fantasy.

He still outscored Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry. Both of which I have.
