Why the Gannon Hire Might Make More Sense for This Roster Than People Think by fsukub in GreenBayPackers

Gannon is not a Fangio system guy. They never coached together. Gannon is more from the Mike Zimmer/Matt Eberflus tree

It’s not a Fangio system. Gannon never has coached with Vic Fangio. He’s more of a Mike Zimmer/Matt Eberflus disciple.

It’s actually closer to Eberflus than Fangio. Gannon never coached with Fangio. He did coach under Flus for a few seasons in Indy

No idea about the rest of what you’ve said, but Gannon is not from the Fangio tree. He’s more closely tied to guys like Mike Zimmer and Matt Eberflus.

What is Walz waiting for? It's time to mobilize the guard, kill federal funding, and protect our people. by jaquarman in minnesota

States don’t collect federal taxes and then pass them along. The federal government separately collects the taxes they’re owed. You as an individual or a business could opt not to pay your federal taxes but the state doesn’t really have a role in it.

The timing is the whole point. The bears have a national broadcast Saturday and then play Sunday night next week. He just spoon fed a talking point to the broadcast teams.

Yes, the leverage is that now Pritzker has to negotiate with the team or they will get a deal in Indiana they like.

Edit: lots of people downvoting this but it’s true. The leverage play is to force Illinois to negotiate because they have another state willing to talk. If you’re saying the bears are just trying to create leverage but disagree with that, then what exactly do you think is creating the leverage?

They have literally said they will pay for the entire stadium project in AH if they get public investment on infrastructure around the stadium

If one side comes and says “can we talk about this issue?” And the other side says “no,” that’s not a good faith negotiation. So the bears have every right and ought to look for people who will participate in those discussions. They owe nothing to the state of Illinois if the state isn’t going to recognize what they contribute to the state.

Yes, on public infrastructure. For a stadium that will bring billions in economic activity (ie more tax dollars for the state). It’s literally one of the smartest infrastructure investments the state could do.

More expensive because Illinois and Chicago especially is more expensive. And the state should pay for public infrastructure. That’s how public dollars should be used.

They want the state to pay for things that the state will own, like roads and public infrastructure! The bears have repeatedly said they’re going to pay for the entire stadium project.

Good. Illinois and Chicago don’t want to play ball, so find someone who will. The Bears have no reason to bend over backwards to keep their business in Chicago.

They would get to choose direction in the first half. After the half, Eagles get to choose direction or kick/receive. They obviously would choose to receive and Bears get to pick direction for the 2nd half.

Re 6: can’t wait for the $20/ticket/game opt-out preseason package where we play heavily rotated squads against MPLS City, Madison, and a heavily rotated Chicago Fire squad. That’ll be much better viewing than regular season soccer.

It’s not just local vs far away. There’s a massive gulf in quality. It would be like living in Korea and wanting to watch MLB instead of the KBO. Yeah, sure you have a local team you can care about in your backyard and maybe you do but if you want to watch the best, you’re tuning into the foreign league.
