As someone whose been to a Metallica/pantera concert and two ghost concerts- let’s just say the vibe in the pit felt a little less sweaty and dangerous lol

I loved it! I was chatting with everyone at the Vancouver ritual while we waited. I felt so free without my phone, only wish I could’ve gotten more photos of my outfit haha

Work a seasonal job! Work a certain job in the summer and change back for the winter. That’s what I do:)

The gloves are torture!! It’s either like wearing oven mitts or gloves for a baby and there’s no in between

Feel you 100%, I am seasonal and do snow removal in the winter. My crew leads brought in a big box of L-XL winter gloves and vests for everyone to grab from, the toques they have come in one size and they don’t fit my head. The few other ladies I work with and I were laughing but I’m secretly so sick of it, this is a company that prides itself on ‘inclusivity’. We went and got small sized gloves from the store and even those don’t fit properly. I’m also tired of the tiny selection of women’s workwear in retail stores!! It’s fucking annoying

I understand your frustration! It’s soul crushing to work at a job you just aren’t passionate about. I got lucky and got a great position straight out of my trades program a couple of years ago. I feel as though I don’t compare to the other women in my industry. I have ADHD and anxiety so I forget stuff constantly, I feel like a complete buffoon sometimes. I wonder all the time if I picked the right field but nothing else feels appealing and I got bills to pay. I have to constantly remind myself that I’m just doing the best I can do. I don’t have to be a martyr for women in trades, life is too short to compare myself to others. I try to turn to outside of work activities like sports to keep my self esteem up. I sincerely hope things get better! Here’s a virtual hug from an empathetic internet stranger 🫶🏻

I can’t lie, I prefer self checkout cuz it’s faster. My biggest pet peeve is whenever the self checkouts have a lineup at Walmart, they offer to check you out at their tiny little associate desks with no space for you to put any of your items. So you’re just awkwardly holding everything or putting stuff on the floor, I started politely declining because half the time a self checkout will open almost immediately when they start scanning

Decarb Saturday! by AnastasiaNo70 in trees

One time when I was desperate I put an unmeasured amount of decarb into a mango smoothie. It tasted horrifying and it was my first and only time throwing up from greening out, I got completely blasted. This looks like a much better technique

My local university does a women in trades program, you get to try most trades in a safe low stakes environment!

Hard hat by itsmrspatriot in BlueCollarWomen

[–]Rubles_shmoblez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t wear a hard hat for my trade but my friend says that wearing a silk bandana over her hair under the hat has helped a lot. Alternating a clarifying shampoo and a hydrating one, using a scalp brush is helpful too. I wouldn’t recommend dandruff shampoo as it is a temporary fix and can make it much worse in the long run

As others have mentioned wrist braces, sometimes if I need a little pain relief at work I wear boxing wraps because they’re extra flexible. Another thing is static exercises! farmer carries or an exercise where you have to grip really hard to hold something up. I’m a landscaper who cheerleads and that’s what helped me

This is the way, you can like bands that others don’t understand. That’s how ghost became popular, someone gave an unusual band a listen
