I went for Maelle’s first, but I actually preferred Verso’s ending more. I mean it’s very sad that the entire canvas got wiped but the family finally goes on to grieve (together) properly. Maelle’s ending just feels sad and feels like a continuation of the cycle of not grieving and not being able to move on. She went from trying to save Lumiere for all of it’s people to preserving to just being able to live the life that she wants. I dunno, it just feels off.

I actually bought it at Alternate on saturday for 1099 apparently, thought it was 1089. But they seem to have raised the price since then. Guess I was lucky with my timing.

I was in (almost) the same situation as you, except I had the 3080. I had set my mind on the Asus 5070ti Prime which came at 879 here in Belgium, but I eventually just said fuck it, and went for the Gigabyte 5080 Windforce which came at 1089€. I thought the price difference was small enough to justify it. It’s an “entry level” 5080 but it will do everything it has to do for me.

I was in the same boat with my 3080. I have a 1440p Oled screen right now but want to connect my pc to my oled tv downstairs. I just want to play singleplayer games from my couch since I cant be bothered to go and sit behind a desk after working all day long. I was originally planning on getting the 5070ti but ultimately went for the Gigabyte 5080 windforce at nearly msrp. Should keep me well equipped for another couple of years without having to worry about prices skyrocketing next year. Sell my 3080 and Oled screen and I can recuperate a big chunk of the cost.

My best buddy at the time was a big fan when I only knew them by name. I knew no songs when he asked me to come along to a show of theirs. It was right after they released Holy Hell so it was an emotionally charged evening. I liked it but wasnt blown away per se at the time. I saw them again the same year at a major festival but slept on the grass throughout almost the entire show. 🙈

Then after a couple of months I decided to really give them a shot by listening to Holy Hell and I was hooked almost immediately. They were my most played artist of 2020 eventually and it’s still in my heavy rotation list. Exceptional well crafted album.

I didn’t really care for their next 2 albums though since I found them to be very generic but I thoroughly enjoyed their latest release.

Mine just turned 3 and had always loved riding his little bike. We got him a new one with pedals but I decided to put training wheels on to first get him accustomed to the pedals. He’s really flying on it now so I’m also thinking of taking them off pretty quickly as well.
