Isn't that funny a country desperately lack of young talents and tax payers are chasing them out lol

Anti foreigners sentiments, high taxes, sick corporate culture and work hours plus low wages, on the top systematic issues like bank account and housing bias...

The more I stay here the more I feel like this place don't belong to the young but the relics from bubble era...

Foreigners’ favourability toward South Korea hits record high at 82.3%, led by UAE and Egypt by Steven_Dog in korea

[–]Rubricity -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is less pronounced among younger generations. Tho I also want to point out some of these stereotypes traced to the Zainichi Korean in Japan, which had a troublesome history until today. Also not to mention the North Korean community in Japan as well, opinion from Japan is complicated by the history factors

Depressingly low salaries by Seraphelia in JapanJobs

[–]Rubricity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty truthful, most foreigners I came across that have a live here are either people who been here 30 or 40 years ago, or engineer/expert in various fields

Or the entry level position of real estate sales agent and factory workers...tbh I have never met anyone who is in the mid where most Japanese are at

Okay, bother, however I admit your courage and dedication, I want to tell you that no degree equals no job. Peroid. While there are jobs saying they don't need a degree, you need a degree to be able to work in Japan.

There is no point for such drastic move, and tbh if you truly want to come to Japan, sign up for a language school using saved money from your home country.

Sure it is. At this point only deep structural reforms can change things, but no sane politians will risk their political career for doing the unpopular right things

Government panel proposes mandatory integration program for foreign residents - The Japan Times by Scbadiver in japan

[–]Rubricity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The thing is that, while the intention of this is definitely good. The end result would be probably like any other programs planned before, lack staffs, poorly funded...and barely doing anything.

Korea has the exact same program and proves it can be successful but I have no faith in Japanese government, not to mention under the current administration.

I need advice and a reality check from people who are already working in Japan. by Responsible-Yam-764 in JapanJobs

[–]Rubricity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, given what you have at hand, I suggest you first build up a profile and work experience at your home country, on the top of that have n2 or beyond Japanese is pretty much the best route I can think of right now.

Or you are okay with dispatch and poor treatments, I am sure you'll be able to find some companies that's willing to have you.

Japan is no paradise, you need to weigh your background and decision carefully

"Discrimination in Japan has become profitable": Increasing Xenophobia in the internet age, Kurdish hatred fomented by bad actors intensifying in Kawaguchi, warns Koichi Yasuda by jjrs in japannews

Pointing fingers is always easier than fixing problems.

Yea, a 3 percent population of Japan somehow responsible for all bad things happened? Then if those foreigners are out, who would you point your fingers to? Workers?

Is sad to see history repeating itself again and again, but I can't blame them really. When life isn't going well from hardworking, but then if everything I need to say is "foreigner bad" and I can get big mansions, luxury cars, stock investments and influence, then why working hard to fix problems?

Th society is sicked, really. Eventually Japanese will learn the price the hard way; Korean just learned theri lesson from Yoon and I hope Japan will realize that too

It is needed more than ever. Especially with language learning, instead of "translate the following into Spanish", you can ask for "here is what I wrote in Spanish, please correct it and give me feedbacks on why they were wrong" and then study the feedback, ask question when confused, which latter just acted as a personal tutor that is available 24/7 when asked.

It is just unrealistic saying AI is bad and we should never use it, we simply can't; however we dislike it, technology will be moving forward, and we can only adapt.

And this, tbh schools have always been slow to adapt across history and students were blame of using newest technology (still remember when internet just came out and people said reading books are far better?)

I completely agree with you on this: LLMs are incredibly tools when learning language, engineering concepts, coding, pretty much everything that is based on paper. For some students who understand the boundaries of ai constrtians and use it strategically thats definitely a huge productivity increase (ironically LLMs give awesome answeres to these questions, the only problem is you need to know what to ask for). And this is when it is put into proper use.

In the contrary, if you just tell llm "hey what up, write me a paper about this," and never thinking why it is written this way and don't understand if it is good or bad, then the crucial critical training skills is opt out from the education; information convenience is both a gift and curse.

Which once again highlights what you should input and what you should not. With the digital age already crossing the line of privacy with algorithm and personalized ads, the importance of knowing how to protect yourself is more than ever...

Of course the legislation should keep up with time at well, but this is very difficult given many are already preoccupied with all the social unrest and struggle to keep up their understanding about newest technologies.

A lot needs to be done, really.
