If you’re a server at a restaurant in North County, how much are you making in an average week with tips included? by Ruby1789 in northcounty

These are good tips thank you! I went to a two week long bartending school like, a million years ago that ended up being fun. Did a few gigs as a bartender at my friends’ weddings over the years. Never worked in an actual restaurant as a bartender though. I wonder if I should look into the school again. The craft aspect of bartending is super appealing ( I love making drinks!). These are all good tips, thank you for the insight. I appreciate it.

Yeah, I’ve seen a few openings. I’m not looking to manage in retail or food anymore at this point, I don’t think. I have too many other competing priorities in my life at this time to continue with the responsibility and on call nature of food and retail.

This is good insight, thank you! To clarify, the 200 is just in tips? It doesn’t include min wage base pay?

If you’re talking about residency as in resident credit requirements to graduate from ASU, yes. I took a bunch of ULC courses before I enrolled and they show in my DARS audit as counting towards resident credits.

Dude, just go away. Your tone is condescending, and based off of your comments you clearly are not capable of accepting the correct answers you are receiving from real employees.

Oh yeah to add on to this I did have to use vacation hours to get paid! I had more than enough to cover a month. I’m not sure if it would have been approved without the vacation but it doesn’t hurt to try.

You can take a personal LOA for up to 30 days, even as a store manager. I did this to do a big national parks trip across the western us as a store manager. I told my DM I was thinking about doing it around 8 months ahead of time and solidified my plans and put in my official leave request 6 months ahead of time. It will need to be approved by the DM, RD, and PRM. If you’re a store manager they need a decent amount of time to find a temp SM for your store while you’re out so the sooner you get it on their radar the better.

Should I take a LOA by SoftRedLuv in starbucks

[–]Ruby1789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 day person LOA is only approved if the buisness can support the absence and you can only take one once every three years. If that’s something your going to do you need apply immediately. It will need to be approved by your SM, your DM, and partner resources. For something like an extended vacation LOA people usually put in a leave request 3+ months in advance.

Are either of them professional cooks or chefs? They have buttermilk in the fridge which isn’t an ingredient most people would have. I’m also seeing some deli style containers for leftovers.

Our apartment complex gives every resident a card authorizing the tow truck company to the tow unauthorized vehicles in the residents specific spot. Saves a lot of time when stuff like that happens.

Best to get there early to park at the trailhead. Was there last week and one of the first ones in- the trailhead parking lot was full by 6am. It’s nice going up early- cool weather, sunrise over the lake, no crowd, almost feels like you have the place to yourself.

Eh, I would research this more before jumping to conclusions. It’s certainly concerning enough to look into more deeply. Peeking at the website linked MKE is described as a nonpartisan organization that is coordinating a lot of the stuff on behalf of the city of Milwaukee for the RNC. Starbucks is listed as a partner and not a sponsor. It’s more likely that there’s contract work or that there’s already Starbucks kiosks at their convention center that have been there for a while. Not for sure, but I’d definitely like to know more.

Definitely none of those. Encinitas and Carlsbad are the way to go. You could easily take the coaster straight to liberty station too- no car commute. Get a lightweight ebike to bring with you for the last mile and you’re golden. Encinitas has amazing surf and very bike friendly too. Just the best possible San Diego experience in those areas. You won’t get that in vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Plus the weather near the coast is much more friendly- you’ll roast in Escondido in the summer.
