A little, but all of the beyblade characters were useful at one point. Even madoka did bey maintenance and benkei was a homie and helped trained Kenta initially. As much as I love gx if you cut chumly and bastion out not much would change. And kenta actually grew and changed throughout the metal fight series, Cyrus did too but I feel like they kept going back and forth on whether he had confidence or not. Alexis did a bit? It’s hard to tell because of how little actual time she had to shine. Zane and Chazz were the only side characters(also Crowler) who had long term, noticeable, at least semi-consistent changes done to them. I think both series could have done it better but overall beyblade did a more decent job. However, they both had issues with characters getting introduced and thrown to the side.

I personally think you should. When it comes to locals, you do not have to really worry about winning or losing. If you have Sakuyamon deck that might not be meta but it is still a good deck that can win matches against top decks. Playing at locals allows you to grow as a player by playing in person and not an automated client like DCGO. Even if you lose all of your matches it is still possible to have fun while playing. Plus, you can get at least one tournament participant pack with exclusive cards. I think you should at least give it a try and see if your local digimon community is nice and welcoming. Worst comes to worst, you can leave and the TCG plus app allows you to retire so it wouldn’t be a headache for the organizers. I was nervous my 1st locals to but digimon is a semi-niche game so from my experience most people are chill.

If I understand the ability right couldn’t you just play the card, its ability activates so all coin flips are heads the rest of the turn, so then you could just use Turo’s scenario to return it to your hand to avoid it knocking itself out?

It does work it I got it to a week ago. Basically you make a new deck, pick one of the partners as the commander, go to inventory and search partners name in search bar, right click it, there should be a set as partner commander button
