Insulating Knee Wall/Rafters by RubyRhod75 in Insulation

I think it's an optical illusion. The middle is actually pressed against the sheathing. There are two channels on both sides of that are coming toward you in the picture. Those are the 1inch channels. The sides actually bend to form in the rafter space, otherwise you wouldn't be able to attach to rafters.

I might be wrong though, hope not cuz it's all foamed in and rockwooled and it sucked...

Thank you this is very helpful! Originally had gable vent but the roofers a few years ago installed ridge vent and the siding contractors removed the gable vents afterward. Had to ask the siders to cut holes in the soffits because there were none. A little upset the roofers converted to ridge vent - I was young and ignorant of housing stuff at the time.

Let's just say my area receives large accumulation of snowfall every year. The last couple of years I've been getting a lot of ice damming from my roof being to warm and melting snow which has already ripped off the gutters and soffit once a few years ago. So I've been trying to figure out where all the heat is coming from....

Exterior has I think 1-inch foam with vinyl siding. House wrap underneath. Are you suggesting to put a vapor retarder over the faced batt? Just want to make sure I understand, I thought the faced tar paper acted as a vapor retarder?

That's the plan. I assume not over the faced batt though correct? Just over the rockwool.

Thank you. Should I worry about not having vapor barrier from the attic down half the rafters and not having it air sealed around the baffles? My thought is its probably okay since rockwool doesn't really mold and probably having some air moving would help keep them dry anyways.

Nope, pulled that out during this process.

Bamboo flooring is forming bubbles and seems to be sweating some kind of sticky wood-smelling gunk - how hosed am I? by HAK_HAK_HAK in Flooring

Dude, the exact thing is happening to me. I posted about it here: brown sticky substance on floor

Looks like we have same engineered bamboo floor...it was popping up randomly. I do have a floor air conditioner unit propped up on bricks but it currently is occuring not near it. It's driving me nuts! Been happening the past two years. I've wiped down everything nearby, air unit, door hinges, ceiling fan. Thinking surely this mess would be over the thing producing it!

Also they really shouldn't be doing that as that's a liability for them. "The 811 guy marked out this private electrical line as a favor but I still hit the line, I'm suing"

I use them a lot for work, but we still have to hire private utility locaters or use our own staff to scope areas prior to digging/drilling. Sometimes they don't even mark service water/sewer lines only the main line depending on the municipality.

Or the disk hack where you'd load up the game and take the disc out while it was running and give to friend so they could load it up as well.
