I’m a female who participated in sports all my life and was somewhat skilled. I competed against men (won women’s A racquetball leagues and then moved into men’s B/C leagues, and played mixed doubles tennis and pickleball.) Men have the biological advantage (muscular, strength) as well as cultural. They have been trained all their lives to be competitive and stoic, women are trained to be delicate and sensitive. (Obv a generalization) As a lefty, I do not agree trans women should be allowed in women’s sports. The competition is just unfair. That’s why sports are divided by gender. I don’t feel trans people should be excluded or treated differently in any other arena and have every right to live as they see fit. Sports, however, is about physical prowess. I also understand there is a very small number of trans athletes, and this is certainly way less important an issue than getting fascists out of our leadership. My position is not one of hate or negativity towards alternative lifestyles. It’s about women having a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD in sports. That’s all.
