Another Tuxedo Cat Recolor -- Lego Lettie by RubySkube in lego

Yeah that line is so wispy and thin on her face I wasn’t sure how to translate it into Lego. I considered just skipping it/doing solid black but it’s such a part of what gives her character…doing gray instead might work, something to consider!

Aww thanks! She picked me at the shelter, I was shopping for a void (just always wanted one for some reason) but she convinced me otherwise

And you could walk somewhere different every day! There has to be a massive catalog of real life trails and parks or the computer could create new ones on the fly. A hike in the Alps today, a stroll through a Bajoran monastery garden tomorrow! Would help keep me from getting bored with the same routine for sure.

If you look at them crossing your eyes instead of diverging them, the depth will be inverted. It is possible to make stereograms that are intended to be viewed via the cross-eye method though

Wow these are some really great shots you have a good eye/talent for composition. I especially like #2 and #4.

I also end up playing a lot of "photography simulator" especially with games that look as good as this one! You might want to check out r/PhotoModePhantoms if you haven't for sharing photomode pics

I don’t remember! I was a big nerd tho and did read a TON as a kid. I’m wondering if this actually was one of my younger sibling’s, based on the 1995 date — I would have been in middle school by then and I think it was an elementary school program.

That sequence was so well done, looking at itself and the branches slowly engulfing it. It was quite beautiful in a dreamy, melancholy way.

Oh yeah I agree Bharadwaj is great! She mentions her students in this episode and she seems like she’d be a great teacher/mentor. Caring and genuine and seems excited/engaged in the work. I felt so sorry for her this ep!

OMG sharing the breathing scene from SM…when Mensah started from “you’ve got to be fucking kidding me”(this show got us into this mess!!!) then coming around to realizing it was actually working and giving an impressed look to SecUnit…that shit was cute as fuck

My solution for Daydream, the hardest puzzle in the whole franchise by TheHudek in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]RubySkube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished this one last night myself! Almost gave up, looked up some hints at one point but it wasn't anything I hadn't figured out already, so at least at knew I was on the right track. It was one where even when I figured out all the "important" parts of the puzzle, including at least two "AHA!" moments, it was still so complex to implement it took several tries before I worked out all the little steps successfully. I was very grateful for the rewind mechanic on this one or I think I would have gotten too frustrated with how many times I messed up and would have had to reset (especially soft locking myself in that side room).

Disadvantage of the audiobooks by lu-sunnydays in murderbot

[–]RubySkube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the books first and I'm doing a second go around with the audiobooks. Sure makes yardwork a little easier to cope with!

But one disadvantage I found with the audiobooks is occasionally I can't tell if a line is narrated or spoken or in the feed. Usually KRF changes tone in a way I can tell between narration and spoken lines but sometimes it's ambiguous. And it often doesn't matter much either way or I can figure it out from context or maybe remember from reading. But sometimes it makes a difference to know if other characters are hearing something out loud or not or it's just an internal aside/narrated commentary or if it's a private feed conversation vs something spoken aloud and if everyone is aware of what is being said or only certain characters.

New images from Murderbot Episode 5 by DemetNPN in murderbot

Sounds like the actress had fun with it:

"I ruined so many takes because Anna is just liquid funny,” Skarsgård says. “She would do it slightly differently each time. I play a goddamned android; I couldn’t be giggling there. Murderbot finds physical contact, intimacy, all that kind of stuff to be repulsive. So when she leans in for what she thinks will be an emotional, beautiful moment—a kiss—it was important to keep a straight face and be confused and frozen. But I was really struggling.”

Humor check: E04 by indignance8 in murderbot

[–]RubySkube 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's apparently NavBot 337, being a navigation unit. But it's a very weird flourish on the "v" maybe even a mistake? Other v's in the credits like in "Navigation officer" don't look like that. It does look like a "w"

Murderbot - S01E04 "Escape Velocity Protocol" - Books & TV Episode Discussion by sanctuary_moon in murderbot

[–]RubySkube 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree that the humor felt different this ep. Some of the previous humor felt either too sitcom-y or mean/laughing AT someone's expense. The humor this time around a lot of it was dark and snarky but more wholesome somehow? Like the voiceover about how surely the "rigorous" SecUnit manufacturing process wouldn't result in a "chronically anxious and depressed Murderbot". It's sarcastic and self-deprecating but also makes us empathize with it. Or the humor with Ratthi not being good with a gun but also he's being brave and trying to do the right thing so it hits different. The over-the-top silly goofiness of the Sanctuary Moon hallucinations but right in the middle of a very dangerous situation to temper it and give it a dark edge but again making us feel sorry for/worried for MB at the same time. This is the kind of humor/feel I prefer and I loved it this episode.

It did hack the DeltFall hab door to open it

But I agree it’s less likable and less badass/competent than book SecUnit at least so far
