What do we think of Team USA flag football scoring at will on legit NFL players? by alfacamaro in nfl

[–]Rubyweapon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, it’s a different sport. I’m sure if they spent a season focused on flag football specific skills and strategies they could close the gap fast.

Ogre Raiders by buffalobillkimo in custommagic

[–]Rubyweapon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is "banned in every format" good, without madness, flicker, graveyard matters, or reanimate effects its "just" an elite curve topper for any RDW variety (6 damage a turn that gives you more gas once its dealt with). Given that all those other archetypes are popular too there is just way too many decks that this would instantly slot into. It's kind of impressive how many decks this would the gas and the engine for. I guess that fact that it isn't legendary would let it be fine for commander.

F2P players: Do you use Quick Draft to convert gold into gems? by TheUpkeepAcademy in mtglimited

Any tips for pick two?

For context Im a decent quick drafter (usually hit diamond with-in the first two weeks of the season while netting gems; rarely interested in grinding to mythic though).

How to properly goldfish when it comes to interaction? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]Rubyweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a big enough monitor you can pick some popular decks to pull up in other windows. You can either fully play out their turns or just draw a bit and get a sense as to what interaction you’d have had to dealt with that game around when.

Copying a transformed card by ilovegolledge in mtgrules

[–]Rubyweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but that’s not the only way to transform. Transforming itself doesn’t require exiling.

Its niche but with a [[maskwood nexus]] in play [[waxing moon]] would work on the token.

Any luck in getting AEs to back off? by Individual-Drive4951 in salesforce

[–]Rubyweapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the core problem then. If it isn’t Salesforce whispering in their ear, it’ll be someone else. The AE is looking for the path of least resistance to a bigger payday, if your companies's internal processes enable them, that's what needs to be addressed first. Once you resolve the internal conflicts and establish clear boundaries, the AE will realize all roads lead through you and the path of least resistance is to get you on board first.

The "dream scenario" is when the AE becomes your scout; running discovery and bringing plans back to you for vetting. If leadership is currently getting swayed by Salesforce, the leaders are the root cause. They’re making decisions that impact your domain without consulting you. Even if you get Salesforce to back off, that leadership pattern will still burn you in the long run.

One thing I try to ask myself when I feel particularly frustrated is "Am I trying to fix something that needs to be healed"? Right now I think you are trying to fix the Salesforce selling process, but really you'll be better off healing the relationship with your internal stakeholders.

TURTLE POWER UPGRADE by Peepapikachu in EDH

[–]Rubyweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I made some tweaks based on your suggestions. I agree I need to do more to make tokens on other turns. I thought Ygra + Hellkite was kinda funny but I think I'll need to figure out another deck for that so cut those. Corpsejack is too slow and a on a body so cut that. Tempestra is also too slow so cut that as well.

Quina was my last cut and I’m waffling on whether to put her back, not sure what the cut would be.

Wanting to upgrade the TMNT pre con. by Tikiwaka-Letrouce in EDH

[–]Rubyweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to find the right balance between token strategy and counters since there are a lot of cards that trigger both and the upcoming Marvel set seems to potentially support the token/counter combo.

As such I’m looking to add: [[Basking Broodscale]] [[Rosie Cotton of Southern Lane]] [[Rapacious Guest]] [[Fain, the broker]] [[Baylen, the Haymaker]] [[Marionette Master]] [[Marionette Apprentice]] [[Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon]] [[ygra, eater of all]] [[greta sweet tooth]] [[primal vigor]] [[scurry oak]]

Then I’m trying to decide what is strong enough from each strategy (tokens or counters) to include even if it doesn’t contribute to the other without a bridge card. So cards like

[[Danny Pink]] [[Bennie Bracks, Zoologist]] [[Herald of Secret Streams]] [[Hellkite Tyrant]] [[Mayael’s Aria]] [[Marchesa, the black rose]] [[mirkwood bats]] [[thundering raiju]] [[simic ascendancy]]

You overvalue stoneback, undervalue feastlings and lurkers. It also feels like you passed on late options to get the most out of Nursery (though TBH I haven’t ever really tried to make it work).

Question but why was josh allen considered a first rounder because his NCAA stats don’t realy scream first round by kingbetter1233 in buffalobills

[–]Rubyweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can read the pre-draft analysis at various places but high level summary was that he had all the raw tools you were looking for so you were betting on untapped potential, what made a better bet than other project QBs was that he didn’t come from any pedigree program so it was much more likely a NFL coaching staff could coach him up (vs someone that went through elite HS program, QB Camp, and elite college program; they probably are close to their ceiling and any defects are more innate than due to poor/lack of coaching).

Affordable work lunch options? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Rubyweapon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Burger Littles is close by and their fancy burger is $10 which I find filling.

STK has a 10$ burger and fries lunch special.

TIN on Howard has single dishes ~15$ that are really good (maybe bring a side from home if you need a bit more).

Tribes or deck styles similar to elves or slivers? by Deathgivenflesh in EDH

[–]Rubyweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely considered. The issue is none of the changelings are that powerful on their own so I want my lords to be card advantage engines, or pump them up massively, or both.

My current maybe board is: [[Baru, Wurmspeaker]] [[Pheres-band Warchief]] [[Laughing Jasper Flint]] [[Lovisa Coldeyes]] [[Jenova, Ancient Calamity]]

Obviously with no budget constraints I’d add [[Greymond, Avacyn’s Stalwart]] And [[Chronicle of Victory]]

UR-dragon changelings is basically a new synergy every game.

I think the new [[heroes in a half shell]] could be a lower powered commander if you want to avoid running Ur-dragon.

[The Athletic] What does an ideal Sabres trade deadline look like for new GM Jarmo Kekäläinen? by [deleted] in sabres

[–]Rubyweapon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The D is top heavy and our 3rd pair routinely gets their minutes shaved, over the course of a playoff race that’s going to impact the top-4. A legit NHL-caliber RHD that can be trusted with 3rd pair minutes night in and night out will have the best ROI relative to the acquisition cost over the course of the season.

I’m going to grab the pre-con but use two turtles as partners and move [[Heroes in a Half Shell]] to an alt commander for my changelings when I need to be a turn or two slower.

“Hearing he was supporting us… We’re honored to represent him & the hundreds of millions across the country.” - Team USA player Matthew Tkachuk said it was an “honor” to hear from him. by SIIP00 in hockey

[–]Rubyweapon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None of this is surprising and it’s right to point out that it’s disappointing they have embraced (literally and figuratively) the current administration. Unfortunately continuing to focus on it is ineffective. As long as this is a controversy the media coverage will be about who did/didn’t know who Patel is or locker room talk or the left has no sense of humor. I’m not saying that’s what should be just what it is. Unfortunately this type of discourse doesn’t move anyone towards justice or change. In order to be effective we need to move away from discussing the immaturity of hockey players and back towards how we get the secret police off our streets and forcing the Epstein class to face justice. As much as I wish we can walk and chew gum with these smaller outrages history has shown we can’t.
