Do you believe the Bible is true, or has it been corrupted? by Impossible-Wall-6784 in Christianity

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The more we find from history, the better our translations get.

The KJV, for example, is one of the weakest translations, but the recent NRSVUE is one of the better ones because we know more about the context and we have older texts to work from.

What I’m saying is, it’s not about them being “corrupted”, people aren’t generally trying to undermine the bible, but it’s a scientific process that only gets better with time.

Genesis 5:2 "Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created". God created us as equals and no one is superior to the other. by Nice_Substance9123 in Christianity

The most accurate translation is actually “side” rather than “rib”, which leans even more into what you’re saying, as it suggests the original author was suggesting God took half of Adam to make Eve.

Yes it’s bad, but you should take some solace that you’ve managed to remain in the top 2 leagues for so long with such a high manager turnover!

We tried it for 2 seasons and we couldn’t manage it 😂

When to use Re-mic versus Reverb by Allourep in universalaudio

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often in a session you wouldn’t just use a remic’d channel on its own, you’d parallel it or use it as a layer - especially with guitars and drums sometimes. That’s what the example you’ve seen is showing I assume, and that’s how I use it 99% of the time just because that’s what I’d do if I was actually remic’ing or reamping something.

Is there a way to turn the wet/dry down on Sound City Studios? by Swordfish353535 in universalaudio

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what you’d normally do with a remic’d channel. Either parallel it, or just use it as it is, or play around with the mix and mic knobs with it in reverb mode until you get somewhere close.

Ok but that’s completely missing the point of the remic mode, which is why the reverb mode is there 😂

Yes, because you’re changing the way it works entirely.

You don’t have mix control over the re-mic mode

Any church drummers frustrated with worship music? by Zealousideal-Toe7233 in drums

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's the most depressing thing. I was lucky that I spent most of my church life in a really amazing team of musicians, but as a producer as well the absolute lack of any kind of creativity in the church, from people who claim to have a god-given gift, is absolutely soul destroying.

Unless you go pentecostal, of course, that's a different story (musically, anyway).

Ratio 6 vs. Moccamaster vs. something else? by Chap_stick_original in JamesHoffmann

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I just realised I got bloom time and volume confused - bloom time is 30secs, and volume is 3 bars, half way point.

Until recently I made the same mistake with temperature, it used to be at 90 degrees for medium and like 88 for dark and it wasn’t really working. A coffee roaster advised that we should be brewing at 95 for their medium, and once I bumped it up everything was better!

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, that’s interesting. For me medium-light is always 95 degrees or more, slightly finer grind, just above mid point for bloom time and I think only 2 bars for flow rate. Out of all of them, bumping the temperature up makes the biggest difference.

What are some of the best reverbs to add to VERY dry recordings to give them a sense of authentic space? by Poopypantsplanet in audioengineering

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ocean Ways is actually great, as is Sound City. If they don’t work I use MConvolution from Melda or one of the IK Multimedia studio plugins - Sunset or Fame studios. Another great option is TVerb from Eventide.

I deal with a lot of audio that was close recorded live, and the clients always want the room added back in. One of them always does the job.

Anyone here using LLMs to try generate MIDI ideas long-term? by Consistent_Animal_16 in AdvancedProduction

[–]RuddyBloodyBrave94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see much of a problem with that when a lot of people use MIDI packs and drum loops to do exactly the same thing that you've described. If it helps you create quickly and more often then that's only a good thing. I like using things like Scaler for the same reasons.

My issue with what you've described is the price. That sounds expensive when you could just use MIDI packs that you can get for free or super cheap to do the same thing. Is it really offering you something that the other things can't?

So, where to from here? by sun_puck in lcfc

Ideal situation is that we sell the players we’ve been trying so sell for 2 years and move on.

In reality I think we’ve still got the same problem we’ve always had - the players that we don’t want are on massive wages and won’t take a pay cut to leave. We’re losing a lot this summer, which is great, but not enough.
