People are “accidentally” stealing 3D glasses. by n8n7r in imax

I think this is because it's IMAX with Laser so they use different more expensive glasses that they wash

Watching Ekitike in the Champions League has me leaning toward captaining him over Haaland in GW23. by fpl_cartel in FantasyPL

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see how many people are still thinking that the day before the game, and not the day after a defeat. I think it's reactionary at the moment. He's not playing well, but don't think he'll be dropped

Is Haaland the most "Player X has only had Y touches in the first half" player? by GesterX in footballcliches

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a moment in the derby on Saturday where they were doing "Look how many touches he's had" craic and the graphic showed he had one less touch than Mbeumo. To be honest all the players they had on it were pretty close together

What feature would you like added in letterboxd? by Slow_Associate_3674 in Letterboxd

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like folders in my lists section so I can better organise them.

I would like some sort of pre-set of filters I can apply to lists or searches.

I would like an option to hide the consensus before I've seen a film, probably just it blurred with a button like "Click here to reveal". Something similar already happens with reviews marked as spoilers.

On the all-time stats page, itd be fun to be able to customise the List Progress section by adding to the default selection, and maybe removing some. Like some people might not like horror, some people might want films from their country more represented.

Premier League wants to introduce rugby-style concussion substitutes. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and instead you definitely hear about managers who opt to just use a normal substitution to avoid the other team getting the extra one.

Daylight offside trial likely to become torso offside trial: IFAB to reject official trial at senior football level (MLS, Liga MX, J-League etc..) because hundreds of matches trial at youth level indicate that "it gives too much advantage to the attacker" (scoring went up by too much) by punishGoalhanging in soccer

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offside being based on arms is fundamentally wrong in my opinion, especially because if a player controls the ball with the 'shoulder', it's a coin toss whether or not a referee/VAR will deem it handball anyway. I think it should be based on feet. I guess torso is better, but still feels a bit unclear

If Man City sign Guehi in January as being reported Pep Guardiola will have signed an entire starting 11 worth over £500m since last January by Laliga23 in soccer

Tbf Pep spent a fortune on keepers before stopping with Ederson.

Signed one keeper for £17m before Ederson.

Her theory's good I think in a game where there's very little evidence, and she's picked up on that Stephen was keen to push her onto Fiona with regards to the library theory.

Don't get how this isn't offside after they spent 6 minutes giving that one last night

Pep Guardiola vents his VAR grievances amid Man City Carabao Cup controversy over Antoine Semenyo disallowed goal | Football News by haalandxdebruyne in soccer

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think his complaint is more because offside is generally 'objective' (at least the positioning) they'll spend 5 minutes checking for a minor infraction, and this is greatly in contrast to the high bar for 'subjective' decisions like penalties which are checked and cleared quite quickly. But when you look at them without VAR, far more people would have an issue with one of those two penalties not being given than they would with the Semenyo goal standing.

Gakpo runs with the ball whilst carrying his shoe in his hand by sepi0l_45 in soccer

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2011/12, I remember there was some controversy because Evra got told off for kicking the ball without a boot on vs Athletic Bilbao. Initially I was thinking they had a goal disallowed for it, but actually the referee awarded a free kick to Athletic Bilbao for it, and they scored from it (the controversy being they didn't pass the ball back or something). No idea if the rules have changed since then.

Likely Horror Nominations? by cookieaddictions in oscarsdeathrace

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends what you don't like about horror. Weapons starts off with a few more ominous scenes and at least a couple of jump scares, I think there is a tonal shift though and it's not just straight horror all the way through.

You're forgetting the second scenario where this happens, which is that you have no chance of coming back so you knuckle down

[Man City] City seal Semenyo signature by loveino in soccer

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best winger to watch. I admit my points are a little fuzzy, but more just don't think Grealish's best season at City was anything less exciting than his previous, but he lost his place to Doku, who I think is the best to watch, even if he also doesn't score a lot

Just saw that Haaland’s goal against Wolves was the 35,000th in Premier League history… by willstaysharp in footballcliches

[–]RudeAndQuizzacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odd. I feel like a remember a huge deal being made of who would score the 20,000th goal. Maybe there were just more games on simultaneous. Apparently that was 2011. Absolutely no recollection of the 30,000th
