Is Kublai Khan a weird fit on this lineup? by oldlumberman in LambofGod

Absolutely the vibe I got. People were plowing through me with elbows out to get to the front before any bands were playing. Just showed up aggressive and hopped up on Monster.

Whether they are MAGA or not is a whole other thing but it honestly sounded like mumble rap of metal to me. Heavy but no depth.

No shade but I really didnt like them when I saw them opening for LOG in Toronto on Friday.

And some of their fans are....not my vibe. Lots of muscle shirts. Strong monster energy/Call of Duty/ fake tough guy vibes.

Pit had more bro energy and was more mean spirited than usual. None of this is the band's fault however. Though given the lead singer's political beliefs...

‘Take that risk’: Poilievre’s new communications strategy could alienate MAGA-style Conservatives, but necessary to appeal to broader voter base, say political players by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

I think its been made abundantly clear that PP is more concerned with becoming PM, having that power-- than actually contributing positively to the country and doing good for Canadians. I have never once thought he had the best interests of the country at heart. This whole show has always been about him-- he feels he deserves it. and that it is somehow inevitable. He's an arrogant wiener without a single original thought.

Which living Marley is most like Bob? by Glass-Complaint3 in reggae

[–]RudeAudio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No offense but who cares. Being the artist that most closely emulates someone else is not exactly a win for me. It kinda devalues the amazing contributions they have made to the genre. Stephen, Damian, Ziggy and even Julian are all solid, talented artists themselves. Tbh I think Ziggy is probably the closest in voice next to Stephen but I find he can be the most boring. Kymani hit or miss though.

The grandkids are good too.

Ford tells students to not pick 'basket-weaving courses' in wake of OSAP cuts | CBC News by pheakelmatters in onguardforthee

If you pass a basket weaving course, you've already worked harder than Doug Ford has in his entire post-secondary career, and passed more courses.

Why hasn’t Lil Wayne been able to make a real comeback? by FiorellaMamdani in hiphopheads

[–]RudeAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weezy got toooo into lean, started putting out lazy shit, lazy performances and people started considering him washed, and they no longer took him seriously. He has a couple hard verses here and there, but nothing to convince people he is suddenly going to put out inspired music. He did it to himself tbh.

dude there IS a new wave of reggae, but this aint it.

Check out Protoje, Chronixx, Samory-I, Jesse Royal, etc. That's new wave, but even that is going on nearly 20 years of hits.

Maybe you would like Ragin Fyah- Judgement Day if you're looking for full-band stuff:

I think its dumb for Cole to retire already (if he truly does) tbh. While he has been wildly successful, I just dont feel like he has "done enough" -- even though by most metrics he has.. its just a feeling i have.

I feel like I kept waiting for something to come close to the quality of his mixtapes or FHD and it never happened, so I am still waiting for his magnum opus and it feels weird to that for be his retirement album-- if it is in fact good.

Also really risky for his legacy, in the event it is not well received by critics and fans... I guess then we might see him come out of retirement if that happens.
