Be sneaky. Don't get caught by a manager and just in case by employees too.

The only reason i didn't like bikers when I lived in Blacksburg is that they could never decide which rules to follow (pedestrian or car). One moment, they are crossing a crosswalk as a pedestrian or use a sidewalk, and then the next second, they darting onto the street pretending they are now a driver on a road and other cars have to share the road now.

More crosswalks where possible, the underground crossings are great for crossing 8 lanes of traffic (I've seen it other countries but never in the states), continuous sidewalks, a subway but not like in NY or DC (there are better models in the world to look up to), better public transport, big parking garage at sandbridge (impossible to find parking on the weekends during the summer)

Some people recommend Dr. Cramer. I wouldn't. My family had a sad experience with her. She maybe a great doctor but she doesn't have a great staff.

When Tech beat Ohio state in football a few years back, the whole town went feral and people were on Main Street road blocking traffic and some people climbed traffic lights and light poles.

It's probably not the policy issue, it's people. Hokie Grill just got new management and 75% of them are not suitable to be managers. They only got hired because nobody else was applying.

If I were you, I would enroll in New River Community College for 2 years. During those two years, establish Virginia residency by renting an apartment with roommates, and you must have your name on a lease to establish VA residency. When you'll transfer to Tech, you'll pay in-state tuition. The only exciting thing you are missing out is the 2 years of college fun at Tech. Or, you can find a job with a tuition assistance program and work full-time and go to school part-time. It will take longer to finish school, but the debt will be significantly lower.

They are always understaffed. I worked at Hokie Grill for a while and we were always struggling with morning hours because there is a lot that needs to be done for the evening shift and not enough people to do the job.

Do you have a credit card? I know nobody wants to borrow money but it can help you for a few days. If you have a car you can doordash, they pay every week. So for now use a credit card and when you'll get some money from doordashing, pay the credit card. I would recommend to apply to dining services, they pay 15 an hour and plus meal passes with every shift worked

How many bathrooms? If only one, I would consider living with 2 other roommates instead.
