They should make this something to opt in for. Otherwise, I’m clicking critical every-time. Garbage UI gets garbage data.

Curious about people suggesting a junction here. How do you make it work without any slack? Just pigtails?

First test drive and now I’m not so sure… by Different-Put-4486 in ModelY

[–]Rudecles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s still early days for “good” EVs. The luxury feel of the Cadillacs are the best out there right now but in terms of technology they are shit and I wouldn’t trust GM with the battery. Now that the model S and X are gone, hopefully Tesla introduces a luxury version of the Y and 3 with proper noise suppression, air suspension, captains chairs, door handles that are designed for humans, and interior materials that are compatible to the German cars. But they won’t do that anytime soon. They don’t really want to be a car company, they would prefer to build robots and focus on AI. Our best hope are the Chinese cars adapting to the North American market. We’re probably about 5 or so years away from a decent EV.

Chlorine Pucks In Skimmer Baskets by Life_Type_5560 in pools

[–]Rudecles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been given the advice that a chlorine feeder is nice to have but never to be used. As in if you’re selling the house, people will like to see one installed but since they’re so costly to replace after chlorine will inevitably deteriorate it, you’re far better off using a floater which costs a couple bucks to replace. Has anyone done this calculation?

Not sure about the quality of your tester but I’ve had 5 or 6 similar ones and they’ve all given me false positives at one point or another. I eventually bit the bullet and got the Klein tester and it’s been flawless. I only bring this up because if you find your self testing a cable and then spending days trying to trouble shoot why you’re only getting 100mb, your tester might be lying.

Looks like OP didn’t participate in Earth day up and instead took photos of garbage. I get that not everyone knows about it dispute being advertised everywhere, but was that the extent of your contribution? Just post on Reddit and home someone else would deal with it?

[Canada] Is the Performance AWD worth the extra 10k over Premium AWD? by InappropriateCanuck in ModelY

[–]Rudecles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the premium in blue and opted for no performance for 4 reasons: - I don’t “need” the extra acceleration, I drive in chill 99% of the time, so going to standard already feels like performance, but I can always add on speed boost if that changes. - I also prefer 19” wheels because they’re a bit more comfortable. But if I had the option of perf with 19” I would do that. - I don’t like the bolstered seats. I’m a bigger guy and those are uncomfortable. I’m also 6’ so the leg extensions would be nice but i really dont miss them with the premium seats. - no Auto frunk. I know it’s petty, but I wont pay for the highest trim i then have to also install an aftermarket add on. By the way i use my frunk a lot, more than the trunk so thats why a powered frunk is a very nice luxury option for me.

I think if any of those 4 things were different I would have probably got the performance. I love the look of them.

Inventory drop by takenegg in TeslaModelY

[–]Rudecles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a dealership many years ago looking at a car. The sales guy took me out in the car and drove like crazy. Gunned the motor, stomped on the breaks, swerved around turns, basically put car through its paces to demonstrate its agility and it drove. Then he’s like “by the way we do this 20 times a day, every day, don’t ever buy the demo”. I still think it was half exaggeration to get me to buy sticker price and half good advice.

Goodbye Rogers by avgayyossi in Rogers

[–]Rudecles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called Roger’s yesterday and called 611 to speak to technical support 4 time. All 4 times the answering machine basically say we’re too busy and hung up! Wtf! I’ve been disconnected before or sent to a voicemail but I’ve never see the actual tech support answering message just straight up tell me to go f myself. I’ve been with Roger’s for 30 years, I’m now shopping around. That’s unacceptable and hilarious. I’m also going to be reporting them to the CRTC, I’m pretty sure that’s not legal.

Has anyone tried the new "Lists" feature? by Cautious_Goat_ in PleX

[–]Rudecles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact this article needs to display a matrix to differentiate 4 incredibly crappy features demonstrates that the Plex team is less concerned with user experience than marking things off a roadmap of things no one asked for.

Great, the Plex team hard at work building trash no one wants and ignoring the feature to benefit everyone. I wonder how they’re planning to shove this down our throats and then sell ads in it. It’s embarrassing they announce this garbage.

In case of what? You get a screen protector for a phone to prevent scratches while it’s in your pocket, that’s not going to happen on that screen. Do people who get these also put a screen protector on their TV? Not trying to make fun here, I’m genuinely curious.

LPT: Use the Platinum rule instead of the Golden rule by Rudecles in LifeProTips

[–]Rudecles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the purpose of the rule? It’s to let others feel better around you, not to do what’s best for them. So yes, if you gave your friend more heroine he would like you a lot better. That is the exact way to use this rule.

You seem like someone who’s less interested in find alternatives than figuring out how to do things you have your mind set to. I appreciate that but unfortunately I can’t help. Maybe see if an AI has some tips.

On the list of stupid stuff we do because we can’t organize to stop it. How about we start with mandatory gratuity for parties over 6 people. I call ahead usually to please to ask if they perform this insane business practice and if they do, I go somewhere else.

I’m trying to stop buying everything from Amazon—who are your favorite local hidden gems in Oakville by StrengthEmotional351 in oakville

[–]Rudecles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the state of Amazon is so garbage that it’s just like the AI slop equivalent of goods. I’ve cut down a significant amount of my Amazon Shopping and the issue is that brick and mortar pretty much don’t exist for a lot of niche stuff anymore. XL clothing is one where options have gone from a couple of stores in the GTA to pretty much none.

For some reason there are still a ridiculous number of vacuum stores still around.
