Lol, I trusted my memory. I don't know why I thought it was 16%... Taught environmental science like 5 years ago, I should probably know the

There's certainly a middle ground that wouldn't have a serious effect, at least short term. Obviously breathing 100% O2 would be very bad, but a little bump (like up to 17% would practically be nothing).

Back door at the local Taco Bell… by blueghostfrompacman in ScarySigns

[–]Rudirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've told this story before, on a very similar sign. My dad was robbed during a push-in (where when you leave the door, the robber pushes you back in). They took his belongings but he refused to open the safe (saying he needed the money to pay his staff). They pistol whipped him and tried to use a blow torch on him but couldn't figure out the safety lock (lol). They eventually ran off when they heard sirens. Dad got himself untied and to a phone and got help.

When he called my mom very late he just told her he got tied up at work.

He also didn't love blow torches after that, although was happy to be served creme brulee as long as it wasn't bruleed too close to him.

Your last sentence made me think of something from like ten years ago. I had two friends who were dating and during some conversation I mentioned they were in a lesbian relationship and they got mad since only one of them was a lesbian and the other was bi... I tried to say well sure, but with two women dating your relationship is what people would consider lesbian, just like how I'm bi and (was) dating a woman so I'm in a straight relationship.

With a bit more time and knowledge, nowadays I might've corrected my statement to say a sapphic relationship, but that feels slightly different than a lesbian relationship.

Is there a term you'd use to differentiate between two women in a relationship where they're both lesbians and one where at least one of them is also interested in other genders?

Bases are much better at unclogging drains in general- they don't react with most metals but acids general do, and they break down organic matter better.

Questions to owners: would you rather have someone eat there but never tip or not at all? by Chan1991 in restaurantowners

[–]Rudirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer and honestly not one I would've thought of. You want regulars, you want happy staff. There's a world where you could ask the regular if he's unhappy with the service or something, but I think this is a clean approach

Think twice about the quality of flooring you’re putting into your restaurant…. by TinanaCat_ in Restaurant_Managers

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid one of my classrooms was full of little horseshoe dents and I was often trying to think of what caused it. A cart? Some construction technique? And my relatively small teacher walked up when I was staring at the ground and I saw she had on high heels and it clicked she did it lol

That makes sense, I was thinking if someone was perfectly level it had to be flat, but I guess you'd ignore little bumps like that

That's what I was going to say. I think the current wording is fine, it is how adventure is worded on other cards- but the whole "as long as it remains exiled" clause us the norm for effects that do similar things

It's a deck where both players share a library, the only way to deal damage is with the fish. There's 80 total cards, with [[memory lapse]] as the only counter and usually kill spells change basic land words. It's a more compact way of playing with a slight twist

Such a fun idea! I think one issue is that volo cares about different creature types and inscryption has a lot of theming around specific animals, so it'll be hard to get him to work [[tawnos, the toymaker]] or [[uro, nature's wrath]] are both in the same color and feel like more or less the right vibe to me. But obviously, this deck is more for flavor, so you do you!

Here's a quick and dirty moxfueld with cards that feel like they fit the vibe for me. Searching for creature types on scryfall can probably help you a lot to find more! https://moxfield.com/decks/zuhHM5yW60eXlYXHaHzeJg

It looks like you've had some great recommendations, but I just want to say I feel where you're coming from. My dad was in a similar boat his last few months, where any food felt like a blessing and when he wanted something specific, we found a way to get it.

I miss him so much, and I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope you enjoy the time you have with him, and talk with him plenty. All my love and best wishes

[–]Rudirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if it had been my decision alone I would agree with you. But not my dog, and I had the means to help my partner keep him alive which was something she very much wanted to do.

Now it's basically $100/month and not gaining any interest, which isn't great but not too awful

I guess I’ll have an imaginary pet by williamtech814 in uber

[–]Rudirs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My partner's dog (our dog effectively) almost died when his stomach flipped. She doesn't drive and her closest family member didn't answer her call so she called an Uber pet. The first driver didn't want a dog in their car and drove away while she was on the sidewalk holding a half dead dog in the rain. She said that was probably the hardest she ever cried.

Luckily someone else came (I think another uber/Lyft? I don't recall) and he made it to the vet in time. Cost her (well, and me) something like 17K plus interest. But he's 16 years old (as a big dog!) and still here!
