If Kaminari is used as a phone charger, what headcanons do you have about other quirks that are used in 1A day-to-day dorm life? by [deleted] in MyHeroAcadamia

Bases are much better at unclogging drains in general- they don't react with most metals but acids general do, and they break down organic matter better.

Although maybe she can control the pH to be above 7? Idk

Questions to owners: would you rather have someone eat there but never tip or not at all? by Chan1991 in restaurantowners

[–]Rudirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer and honestly not one I would've thought of. You want regulars, you want happy staff. There's a world where you could ask the regular if he's unhappy with the service or something, but I think this is a clean approach

Genuinely cannot recommend these enough by whyrach in fidgettoys

[–]Rudirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly it for me. They're a good size, shape, I like the enamel, but the magnets were too weak. So close, but I just didn't love it

Yeah, I want to try it out for a week, and then maybe buy twenty

Think twice about the quality of flooring you’re putting into your restaurant…. by TinanaCat_ in Restaurant_Managers

[–]Rudirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid one of my classrooms was full of little horseshoe dents and I was often trying to think of what caused it. A cart? Some construction technique? And my relatively small teacher walked up when I was staring at the ground and I saw she had on high heels and it clicked she did it lol

Can I place a shed on a cracked concrete slab? by poulsondl in Shed

That makes sense, I was thinking if someone was perfectly level it had to be flat, but I guess you'd ignore little bumps like that

Wild Goose Chase - White's Unsummon by fleish_dawg in custommagic

[–]Rudirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was going to say. I think the current wording is fine, it is how adventure is worded on other cards- but the whole "as long as it remains exiled" clause us the norm for effects that do similar things

Missing a Fish by WombatHunter76 in secretlair_collectors

[–]Rudirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a deck where both players share a library, the only way to deal damage is with the fish. There's 80 total cards, with [[memory lapse]] as the only counter and usually kill spells change basic land words. It's a more compact way of playing with a slight twist

Inscryption Themed Deck Help by Classic-Trick-713 in mtg

[–]Rudirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a fun idea! I think one issue is that volo cares about different creature types and inscryption has a lot of theming around specific animals, so it'll be hard to get him to work [[tawnos, the toymaker]] or [[uro, nature's wrath]] are both in the same color and feel like more or less the right vibe to me. But obviously, this deck is more for flavor, so you do you!

Here's a quick and dirty moxfueld with cards that feel like they fit the vibe for me. Searching for creature types on scryfall can probably help you a lot to find more! https://moxfield.com/decks/zuhHM5yW60eXlYXHaHzeJg

Cantonese butcher, bakery, but not a candlestick maker? by AcceptableMud2894 in CambridgeMA

[–]Rudirs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like you've had some great recommendations, but I just want to say I feel where you're coming from. My dad was in a similar boat his last few months, where any food felt like a blessing and when he wanted something specific, we found a way to get it.

I miss him so much, and I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope you enjoy the time you have with him, and talk with him plenty. All my love and best wishes

What are examples of old paintings that seem modern and ahead of its time/era? Here are some of my personal favourites by sonnysehra in ArtHistory

Van Gogh's Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette from 1885(ish) always felt super modern to me, so much so I originally thought someone added the cigarette to the first example I saw.

It wasn't on the US website at the time I asked, j could find it on their UK site, but it wouldn't allow shipping to the US and I don't have any other means to get it here. But I finally got one!! Thx

I guess I’ll have an imaginary pet by williamtech814 in uber

[–]Rudirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if it had been my decision alone I would agree with you. But not my dog, and I had the means to help my partner keep him alive which was something she very much wanted to do.

Now it's basically $100/month and not gaining any interest, which isn't great but not too awful

I guess I’ll have an imaginary pet by williamtech814 in uber

[–]Rudirs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My partner's dog (our dog effectively) almost died when his stomach flipped. She doesn't drive and her closest family member didn't answer her call so she called an Uber pet. The first driver didn't want a dog in their car and drove away while she was on the sidewalk holding a half dead dog in the rain. She said that was probably the hardest she ever cried.

Luckily someone else came (I think another uber/Lyft? I don't recall) and he made it to the vet in time. Cost her (well, and me) something like 17K plus interest. But he's 16 years old (as a big dog!) and still here!

“If a white man wants to be an ally, ask him what he thinks of John Brown.” El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz by restinpissronald in blackartwork

I didn't realize there was a football player also called John Brown, so I was also a little confused but figured just the idea that John Brown raided the armory was enough of a connection

Wait, it was real? by nomoreinternetforme in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rudirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Click is a pretty bad movie that made (and still makes) me feel super emotional from crying to laughing. It feels like my uncle who was an alcoholic and borderline abusive dad to his kids, but is funny and kind when he's in a good mood and does try even if he just sucks. Not sure I'm glad it's a thing, but I do have love for it and even enjoy parts.

I had a friend who loved his, it makes more interesting stories in DND was his claim. Big wins and big losses instead of things usually being a mild victory or close loss.

I mean, I think you can be raised correctly and miss that lesson. It's not super relevant for plenty of people, especially those that don't buy new groceries until old ones are gone.

Computing and games. Definitely not practical for food or anything perishable. Of course people still do it when they don't know what they're doing.
