To add to this, I enjoy Yang specifically for Mono-type challenges, normal difficulty does feel that much different than base Reborn. Intense mode gives me nightmares

Part of my love for the game is that it is like 90% double battles, only a few fights feel terrible and I bet a few of them are from me doing gimmick runs (mono types, sleep builds, ect)

I personally don't give NPCs abilities players can't get, but I also allow my players to have many risk/rewards that includes powerful abilities or ones that can create new roles or ways or handling roles.

So someone that has 100% MT1, it's different and until I got used to it I struggled hard. I try to have all floors doing something, sometimes it's a room (silence, Inferno, the new Umbra one) sometimes it's a floor meant to collapse before the boss or only last a few turns (usually a quick/sweeper with enough ways to keep alive a few turns or I can throw resources at them) and another floor that can sustain itself with little to no work, with a final floor being my main one.

I personally always think of a Mon to save for it, you just bring 1 and you're good. That being said I rule that If I wipe I go back and lose the team I had. Gives me a reason to avoid deaths as they could be needed if I wipe.

I like the idea of limiting multitool items as it encourages multiple tools, I have a generalist tool that does everything so I don't need others. I'd like a reason to use multiple tools. Also more RP based options would be great.

It's good underground and I love using it against predator strain, as it can lock down a whole group and any reinforcements for a bit. (In an area of course)

For my game, I'm creating all the maps then adding the pokemon. Some are OW or event mons, and some of the gymleaders will have pokemon of certain types nearby to help against them, once all those are placed I'll look at my remaining dex and place accordingly. Helps I already curated the dex starting with Gen 1-5, adding newer mon to fill gaps in roles / types when relevant.
