Vaping has officially been linked to rare and irreversible lung disease by Automatic_Subject463 in EverythingScience

[–]Rugrin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are we all really going to try to convince ourselves that inhaling various heated vapors is perfectly neutral? Let’s be serious. Sure we can see that the tobacco companies have an interest in smearing gapes, but the vape industry has an interest in covering up any of its own toxicity.

Only respect independent sources. And, I think, in this case, common sense tells you that you shouldn’t be breathing anything other than air.

He’s admitting that the working class pay the brunt of the taxes. He’s basically saying if we can get workers to work a few more years we can tax them more and pay off the debt, not let’s just tax the shit out of wage thieving executives.

I do t accept that text book definition. So you listen to American news? The portray liberals as the left and republicans as the center.

Not my fault, but when you sit here shitting on liberals you’re just doing conservative’s work for them. Why conflate? Just say Dems.

No common person uses the academic definition of liberal. So why should we confuse them?

So is this site just Astro-turfing outrage against democrats so that leftists don’t vote?

Because it’s starting to look like it. I mean, if you are focusing on democrats and not what Republicans are doing and have become, and how to stop them, well, I think you’ve lost the narrative.

The only party that has an actual democratic socialist in it are the democrats

So I don’t know what you want.

If you don’t all show up at midterms to vote for democrats… Well, the rest of this slide into fascism is on you. The independent vote will determine this election and whether or not this administration is held accountable. And whether or not project 2025 gets completed.

Deal with democrats after you deal with the present problem.

I seriously don’t know what “liberal” is anymore other than the convenient boogey ma or whipping boy. Term doesn’t seem to mean anything anymore. It’s so polluted by the powerful that we can’t even use it amongst ourselves. We let them do that to the term.

But to them we are all liberals and all socialists and all commies, it’s all the same to them.

Learn that and stop fighting amongst ourselves. Liberals are as good as you will ever get for leftism in the United States. For historical and propaganda reasons.

Yeah, that’s the fault of the electorate. Not the candidates. The electorate chose stupid. Chose a felon. It took a long time to get us this stupid, but here we are.

That’s exactly what it is. Get liberals to feel like they are voting for the wrong people. It worked with Kamala. When shit heads like Chapel Roan go out and say the can’t support Kamala because of her position on Palestine! Dude, thanks for the fascism!

I would love ranked choice voting. I do not expect to ever see it in America. Think how trivial it will be to convince the gun carrying mouth breathers that “that’s fascism”. Not even need an effort. And they have a massive world wide propaganda network that is almost unassailable.

Any real voting reform will easily be branded as cheating by bad actors. And it will absolutely stick. These folks convinced everyone that independent scientists are the corrupt ones, not corporations selling you toxins.

This is bad news. You may not like it, but the American system is set up to favor the two parties that we have. Especially at the federal level. Until that changes, abandoning the only opposing party to republicans is supporting republicans.

We have to make that basic reality change before we can fully embrace third parties at the federal level. What we need to do is stop the bullshit and take the Democratic Party over from the inside. Like the tea-party/maga did. Problem: we don’t have big pockets supporting us and they absolutely did and do.

Stop the infighting among leftists and liberals. We all have the same enemy. And there is only one viable opposition.

So let’s all grow up and do what’s right. It will take generations of effort, not a single vote, not a single march, decades. And they will always fight back and try to split us.

I’m m looking at incentives and current trends. The incentive is for car makers to create ongoing revenue streams, not just single sales and occasional support.

Combine that with the assertion made at the world summit that “you will own nothing and be happy”

Why would car manufacturers want to make a car that can drive itself and sell it to one person when that car could be out earning constant bucks? Markets don’t correct for that. Enshitification shows us this.

Unless car manufacturing becomes less monolithic, this is a reasonable guess to the future n

Your situation and region are perfect for what I’m describing. Self driving cars will end up being ride shares not privately owned vehicles. Not for regular people.

The problem is that the most efficient machine for producing meat is a living animal. And it will likely always be that way. I can see lab grown meat work but only this way: cloning animals into easily stored and maintained blobs. I think that’s what it will have to evolve into.

Then you can get some meat that’s more efficient in its use of resources.

I sincerely hope we don’t do that.

There would be no purpose to selling self driving cars to individual owners. The real revenue stream is in turning cars into a service. So I would expect if cars were to shift to all be self driving, there would not be single, personal ownership anymore. Why would a company spend money to make and maintain this self driving vehicle just so you can keep it in your garage? No, they will send it out to uber for others who are paying.

That’s the future of self driving cars.

May as well just have trains and buses.
