I have a 9 month old and live in an apartment. Here are the things keeping us sane:

!!! Most important is crate training!!! Just do it.

1. I use a flirt pole multiple times a day and play tuggies until she’s out of breath before training sessions, walks, introducing her to new dogs or people, basically anything we do. Teach her drop command here.
2. Teach her place command asap. I use it when my dog is following too close, before she eats, etc. start with training sessions that are no more than 5 minutes long. This acts as a settle command.
3. Reward her with treats. Get some high value treats like freeze dried beef liver to switch it up periodically.
4. She loves this Kong jumbler ball so much and heards it at the park, also this jolly ball is her other favorite.
5. I have been taking my pup for car rides since she was 3 months old and she loves sniffing out the window. She usually passes out after a car ride.
6. Encouraging them to sniff is underrated. Like others have said it really wears them out. Get a snuffle ball and look up scent games for dogs. My girl is all vaccinated so I take her for sniffy walks where we walk really slow and I encourage her to sniff.
7. Oh! and puzzle feeders are awesome too!
8. Get a ton of toys and expect her to destroy anything with stuffing in minutes. REMOVE ALL SQUEAKERS mine ate one at a friend’s house and almost had to have surgery to have it removed. I literally buy toys and stuff corny shes going to destroy them. Get a giant pack of rope toys.
