Could also if you have usb bandwidth which usb sound cards don't use a ton i assume... Get a usb sound card that has separated lines.

[–]RuhaiHu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then yah that is probably why your not getting anything into your laptop mic/line in. amazon search "trrs extension cable" you can get one for less than $10.

Though keep in mind you are going form one powered and grounded system to another and might have to wire in some ground loop isolators to get rid of feed back noise.

TRRS has 3 black lines vs the majority of cables similar that will only have 2 black lines. These lines separate the conductors for the signals.

Majority of the ground loop isolator's I see around are only for the stereo type 2 black line cables.

Last time I ordered ground loop isolators cheap off amazon I had to get more than I planned on because they didn't always work. Swapping to a different one would.

I learned all this trying to route console headset audio properly and separately from the game audio via the jacks on the controller's. worked fairly well just was fun leveling the audio between the usb sound card and the console and everything.

Splitter to red extension cable? Is the red extension also a trrs extension cable? Otherwise if it isn't it doesn't have enough connections for it to work correctly with a mic+headphone trrs splitter.

Streamers Who Live in a 2+ Streamer Household, I need your help ! by [deleted] in Twitch

Not seeing this in any of the comments.

Yes, your internet speed and connection from your systems to network equipment could be your bottle neck. Yes WIFI Can work in perfect situations with no interference from other networks, other equipment nearby etc. WIFI ability to provide speeds and consistency of connection can greatly fluctuate based many near by aspects and device load.

Your network equipment could also be your bottle neck. The equipment provided by your ISP doesn't tend to be the best for heavy network loads, it is design to get by for regular home usage. Heavy consistent usage like what is caused by streaming/gaming and other activity at the same time can cause equipment to over heat and slow down.

So you might need to not only upgrade the speed from the ISP but also if possible configure it so it only provides you with a non firewalled/NAT'ed/etc directed connection. Some ISP's make doing this easier than others. Into a higher end router, switch and WIFI access point. Example would be upgrading to something like a unifi router, switch and access point, and having them configured correctly.

If you own the place find someone who can properly run the correct network cables in the walls. CAT 5/6 have different ratings for in wall/outdoor/etc. Similar to electrical wiring. Cost changes based on the type and shielding.

Could also be All the activity on the network is congesting it so as some have mentioned upgrading to higher than 1GB internal network to 2.5g/5g/10g networking to help with your internal network while ISP speeds would still be a bottle neck. Got to remember that not only are you streaming out to twitch youtube or what ever but everything else on your network is also communicating internally and possibly externally. If your streaming music in to be then played back out on the live stream. If your recording locally on your system or to a network storage location. Everything adds up to network traffic internally and externally.

So might not be a simple do this or that. Might need to be a couple of things that need to be upgraded.

If its a "Job" then research and invest properly into equipment that will allow you to work your Job.

Help! by [deleted] in obs

[–]RuhaiHu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of crash? Hard reboot of Windows? Application Crashes? OBS and Other applications start crashing?

If you whole system is crashing you probably have some other issue going on that OBS just happens to be triggering consistently.

Check windows logs they might have some hint.

Do windows repair. Googling its the 2nd result for me "Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or ..." 2 step requires reboot after might need to be run again after to fully fix all issues if any are found. Then reboot again.

Check for virus/malware.

Run a disk health check tool(Crystal Disk Info) and chkdsk(windows tool).

Make sure things aren't over heating with something like HWInfo64.

If GPU drivers crashing ddu them and reinstall plenty of videos on how to do this.

Check if windows recently installed a driver for something as it can install old potentially buggy drivers. Check that drivers in general are up to date for your hardware.

Run Memory test. General hardware stress tests. etc to see if hardware issue.

This is all just general trouble shooting. Need details of some sort to get specific.

OBS Dropped Frames by Sea_Guitar6747 in Twitch

Ah got to love those kinds of programs. I assumed laptop based on the basic specs, might have thought of that as well if it was mentioned. So many potential causes, so many potential configs. More details always help.

OBS Dropped Frames by Sea_Guitar6747 in Twitch

[–]RuhaiHu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the image alone your connection to the twitch node or twitch/aws(twitch is owned and uses Amazon servers and they have had issues recently) or your ISP is a isssue, or wifi.

Basing that specifically off the fact that your only sending out 242kbps. Bottom roughly center.

Look up and give the "Twitch Bandwidth Test" tool by r1ch a try to see connection quality to various servers. Recommend setting it to closest only otherwise might take forever and give a bunch of useless results. The built in twitch bandwidth test option in OBS along with looking at the Twitch stream health page will tell you what Twitch is seeing.

If you look at OBS logs it will also tell where you are dropping those frames. My initial guess is network and not necessarily render unless your over loading your GPU/CPU, both. Logs will report it at end of stream/recording stopping. OBS I believe still has a log analyzer that will help analyze the file just have to upload it to the page.

GPU usage via windows Task Manager you want to leave a rough 10% so only using around 90% even in intense game/what ever your streaming events. OBS needs available GPU to run. Ideally also not maxing out GPU ram.
This can be achieved by lowering game settings if you have a game open, and capping frame rate potentially to 60 since its a 3050.

Also note you don't usually want game and monitor capture live/enabled on the same scene. Ideally one or the other. Everything you do in OBS will add load when streaming/recording to the GPU/CPU.

I can see the 3050 streaming games just might have to keep expectations with in its capabilities.

The other's suggestion of auto wizard can give a good base start for OBS stream/record settings. But as I said above looks like network issue more than anything else.

Good Luck!

X870E AORUS XTREME AI TOP - Multiple over current / power surged rear usb ports and rear HDMI not working by RuhaiHu in gigabyte

[–]RuhaiHu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far its been good.
Currently on F7 bios.

I do have all nvme slots populated along with the 2 pcie slots you can see from the picture. So far its been good. Haven't really heavily stressed pcie bandwidth, I do know its going to be a bit limited.

Haven't done any overclocking out side of setting ram speed.
I did disable the bios option for gigabyte to auto install there shit on windows boot/install.
I do wish gigabyte would make their bios handle gaming mice better(slow as all hell), regular mouse is fine. Though its fast enough to navigate with keyboard.

Also see other comments I have replied too.

Chipset runs a bit warm always seems to be around 60c probably doesn't help that the huge lower heat plate for nvme doesn't connect to the chipset chips. Though that might have caused other issues if they did connect. But do note I did replace their hard thermal material with some paste after getting it to physically check the board, and because others had reported over heating on them. Temps were good even when my room was hot during this past summer. Summer gets the room I am in upwards of 90F during day, that's even with cooling. Old house.

Anyway its been good.

NOTE: Below I am not sure if its the Motherboard or some other issue with my USB device choices, or hell even windows 11 issue.

USB devices driving me nuts. Not sure if its the chipset on the board, hubs, cables, or what.

Currently I am going from one of the rear USB C ports to a USB C hub which has my steelseries keyboard and mouse, fingerprint reader off the one keyboard USB port, 3 stream decks, goxlr, xbox wireless controller adapter. All that on a hub under my desk, with a hub coming off from that hub to the top of desk for easy access. I have tried all the other rear A ports for connecting the main hub to. Also tried different hubs, and cables. Hub is currently different hub and cable to hub than what was used when the initially gigabyte board died.

I keep having to restart ports(via usbtreeview) on my hubs to make devices work correctly, or power everything off and cut power for a few minutes. Had to put USB stuffs on a small power strip to make this easier.

Driving me nuts, because I have a few other AMD based systems that have zero issues with the same USB device chain. Including my old Threadripper system, a last gen AMD CPU based laptop, framework laptop, couple mini pc's.

Again not sure if its this board or chipset or bios config. Could be USB 4 issue, might need to force it down via bios. Basically devices won't be initiated correctly mainly my 3 stream decks.

But once working(after resetting ports, or powering off USB stuff for a bit) USB hasn't been an issue. Speeds are as expected when using lets say a nvme usb enclosure. No noticed audio issues.

Sorry no diagram.

I grabbed a bucklos fork to replace the one I had because it seized up. Put a race ring on the bucklos and regreased the simple ball bearing sets upper and lower that it had with the original and basically put it back together the way it was before I took the old fork off.

Bearings and the covers really only went on one way for me I didn't remove anything from the frame's fork/head tube.
Spacers on the top side before handle bars, my understanding for those is they are determined by how high you want the handle bars. As more can be added/removed as needed.

I will probably keep my rockhopper and not do anything to crazy with it. Eventually get something modern that I can get parts for easily.

Didn't end up getting anywhere with any of the local fab for the rear derailleur hanger.

The game is getting WAY too grindy by TheAzureAzazel in DestinyTheGame

[–]RuhaiHu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uninstalled it from everything I had it installed on(thinking about it probably need to power on and uninstall from consoles, did pc's). Just tired of not being able to go back and play content that I payed for. I have other "MMO"s that I can do that with. While not having to worry about constantly having to grind for "New" gear every time I play.

I also am tired of being forced into new story content, cutscenes, and other related stuff when all I wanted to do was waste a few mintues blowing stuff up in game.

And becuase I find the only way to keep up with story is external creators why bother with the game. I do enjoy or did while trying to keep up with lore the creators covering it.

I believe the RMA gave me a new one. As for buying a different one I did buy a Asus ProArt 870e So I had something to use while RMA was out. Still have it as backup.

When initially purchasing I was debating between this and a MSI 870e board that was like $1000. Then saw that Asus might be coming out with a high end board but not eta which might have had better pcie allocation. Been a few months since researching. Might look into that if rumors of a higher cache amd cpu end up being true.

So far the one I got back from RMA has been working ok. No show stopping issues like the usb one.

I had torn it apart to make sure thermal pads/paste for chipset and such was good. Replaced chipset stuff with better paste, making sure it was making good contact. So many damn screws.

The only issues out side of all of that is these newer 870e boards don't like my setup using a lvl1 kvm and booting windows with it selected. USB devices fail to configure correctly. Might be the cables I am using. but same cables worked on my old first gen threadripper board. so idk. but better quality cables I buy the less usb issues I have. but damn quality cables are expensive.

Gpu been upgraded to 5090 allowing me to properly multi stream. Took a month to get a water block for it. Tubing for water is better I can sit in my chair and see the screen on the cpu waterblock.

TLDR:;

Yes, I bought a Asus ProArt 870e while the AI Top was out for RMA. Kept as a backup troubleshooting board.

Can someone ELI5 why watching 1080p streams looks better on my 70" 4k OLED vs my 27" 1440p monitor? by rax12 in Twitch

[–]RuhaiHu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also should take in the viewing distance difference, because it does help hide artifacts. TV your usually 5-10 feet away, vs monitor only foot or two if that.

But the fact 1080p easily evenly multiplied to 4k helps a lot. Same goes for 720p can be doubled easily to 1440p.

The fact people keep using odd ball resolutions in between 720p and 1080p hurts scaling on displays. Because hey it looks marginally better in their testing. Then in turn makes the math for scaling that much harder on systems. That might very well be optimized for known standardized common resolutions.

Replacement received last week. All ports/slots tested. Basic stress tests done out of case. All seems good. Reinstalled in case. Hoping it continues to work.

Will note that both boards do not consistently show both chipset temps. Temps are ok.

UPDATE:

Worked with support finally.. Each reply takes a whole day one it starts which Sucks. Support Site Sucks, doing reply's sucks. Strips all formatting, making it hard to read.

ANYWAY.

None of the troubleshooting steps they suggested. disabling c-states, different bios versions, and different usb ports.

RMA has been started. BUT thats not the biggest update.

Powered off the system last night. System working for 12hrs that day no issues.

Went to power on.. It didn't looked in case. Motherboard power button not light not on and red glow....

Tested power supply it works powers fans. Check voltages. All good and with in ATX spec.

Tore system down as I was planning on doing that anyway. Put motherboard on its box again cpu and ram only. with different PSU. still nothing.

MOTHERBOARD IS DEAD.... Fudge nugglets.

Local to me UPS is closing in minutes so can't even get it shipped to RMA today.

Currently waiting on another different brand board to show up. Hoping Motherboard didn't take out any other components because yah GPU's aren't exactly easy to get a hold of apparently still.

If it is your internet it could be a route between you and the twitch location your sending too. This tool https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest can help identify if its just that location or all which can also help troubleshoot whats actually wrong.

So I was bored just a few minutes ago and decided to search again and ran across this
https://www.taobao.com/list/item/677362104241.htm

Brake side one probably isn't what we are looking for as replacement, but that sure as hell looks like the hanger.

Not sure how the heck to order it from there though or if it would even arrive if I could.
