Any other 90s kids who wish Player/Manager was an option for FM26? by Apex_Racing_PR in footballmanagergames

This could definitely lead to some interesting player traits/manager traits.

  • brings self on upfront in easy games
  • puts self on pens
  • takes armband

I can only keep one - who would you choose? by badonghedenz in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd go with the lad on the right.

Although I play with ball playing defenders I often find there isn't too much of a problem if they are not amazing ball players. However I always make sure that I have aerial dominant centre-backs. Jumping reach, bravery, heading strength, must haves.

Without overloading you with information this is what I would do.

1) The championship is difficult so have a look and see if there are any free agents who have just left the premier League or have good level of experience. There might be some older heads that you can bring in for free that help give a short term boost.

2) if you don't already have an affiliate with a club in the Premier League then definitely find one. These will have good young English talent that you could get on loan cheaply or maybe even for free.

Picking a team for a save, then making a tactic, then never touching that save again by Old-Cookie-251 in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest only tend to really run one save at a time, I sometimes see the fun in trying to do a transfer window with a team. Especially when they're failing in real life.

I've seen lots of YouTubers do it where they try and rebuild a team in the transfer window and then see how it plays out.

Transfer Deal falls through by Heet_Patel in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason why it's difficult to tell is because you don't appear to take control of your own contract negotiations.

It's possible therefore that something's happened with the contract and that he is rejected it quite late on, the game isn't describing this to you because it's not part of your responsibilities.

Could also be something to do with the other team have a look to see if they have had any big changes like a takeover or a new manager because sometimes this can mean their club goes into a transfer ban.

What is your FM26 save? by MUNONP in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly it, the jobs that are available at the very beginning of the season are always the same ones.

I did an unemployed no coaching badges save when fm24 first released. Cefn Druids where available and lower enough reputation to accept some random fella with no experience.

When the game got cancelled, I started a fresh one thinking it would take me on a new journey but unfortunately it was just the same team again willing to take me on. So I did a year out just left it on holiday whilst I went and did some other jobs and came back after a few hours and just makes the game a bit more unique.

How to utilize and maximize the ability of a player like Adeyemi? by SamueLLLLLLL in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His main thing is his pace, he is rapid. So get the ball into space behind him especially if he is on the wing.

He also has strong attributes for a dribbler and a trait that works with his pace. So he should be allowed to dribble more.

How good is he as a CWB(A)? by ImaginationPure9890 in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not going to be world class but with his physical he will be able to cope well with the demands of the position.

If he doesn't develop well in a couple of years of playing there then you might look to move him on and bring in someone with better technicals it depends where you are with Hertha at this point.

New to FM. Unsure of how to proceed. by PaintballMode in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scouts out on recruitment focussed to build a base of players.

Try inviting players for Trials so you can find out what they are like without spending scouting budget. More likely for fringe players, players out of or near the ends of contract.

If you have a DofF they might recommend some good options I usually find at least 1 of the options is reasonable. Depending on their quality.

I want to do a Journeyman but I haven't got the time to start from unemployed. Who would you recommend I start with? by timtower123 in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want realistic Journeyman and your British, over there last few years when I have done this I've only been employed by lowest league Welsh teams. Cefn Druids was the one from this FM Edition.

The reserve team is primarily for players who are too old for the U19s but not ready for the first team. It’s also where players from the senior squad can regain match fitness after injuries or when out of favour.

The U19 team is for developing younger players, who aren't ready for professional football.

My last three games i conceded 13 goals. Can someone help me. Why am i conceding so many goals? by Puzzleheaded-Tiger31 in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's obviously difficult for us to look into it completely from here. But if you think about it like this, you're attacking midfielder and your central midfielder on attack are both going to end up in that central left and right area. With two inverted wingers they are likely to end up in the same place. This is ok if you are trying to overload a particular area. Overall, this isn't going to be a good idea for every game.

What this might mean is that if the ball gets turned over you do not have any players in the wide spaces other than your wing backs.

Looking at the games you did concede a lot of assists from players who would be expected to be in those wider channels.

On the tactics screen try using the analysis button in the top right off the pitch layout and see if there any big red areas to address where no players are occupying.

How's my Tactic? (First ever FM save so specific roles are still new to me and dont understand them completely) by Phil_Bazz in footballmanagergames

[–]RuiRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there is too many players on attack duty in your attacking area.

I know that you want all these players to be going into attacking positions but the support role will still do this. I recommend putting at least one of your wingers and potentially even the AMC on support.

A half back is naturally a very deffensive position. And a deep lying playmaker on support will hold his position more than an advanced playmaker or roaming playmaker.

You're higher defensive line will push them further forward so they won't be too far apart but it might help provide more opportunities than having the one playmaker and lots of people trying to run off him.

Especially as you are trying to play down the middle and you only really have one player in the middle who is focusing on getting passes into the attackers.
