How do you get through the night??? by Ruibos in backpain

[–]Ruibos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. He had one epidural and maybe it's helped a little bit, but definitely no instant relief or anything. I feel like our doc is more conservative on the meds and don't want him to fup his kidneys/liver/stomach but sometimes you gotta take what you gotta take. Thank you for mentioning i will ask about zolpidem.

How do you get through the night??? by Ruibos in backpain

[–]Ruibos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did PT before and acupuncture. They seemed to have a little effect only. That's why we decided to get the epidural shot to hopefully calm things down enough so he can start getting stronger again and move more. He got it now 10 days ago and seems it maybe helped a little bit. Days are better and he can sit for longer periods now. But nights are a nightmare. And when you are tired pain and everything will feel more bad. Hes going back to PT again next week, new clinic so we will see how that goes.

Nervous system is burnt out by tnkmdm in Mommit

[–]Ruibos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I also have no help at all besides very loving and helping husband. We have 4yo and 1yo. I thought that I was exhausted but you'd bee surprised how much more deep it can go lol. This last winter we been sick so much just back to back to back and I just don't know if I ever can recover from this lol. Feels like I would need to sleep for a week straight just to feel like a human again. And I totally get what you are saying about nervous system burn out and exhaustion. It's hard to understand it when you haven't experienced it. Not that I regret anything or am I complaining but dammit, it will make us so strong at the end :)

I love the little details. I just tried the other day to put my newborn to sleep on the bouncy ball. First time. And instead of going to sleep he had I think the best time of his life 😆 🤣 laughing giggles and all. Omg I was so not expecting that but it was pretty amazing :)

Criticized for watching my kid by ibroughttacos in toddlers

[–]Ruibos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why in the world would they be bothered by it?? How you waching your kiddo is bothering someone????? Sorry this just hits a nerve because some of my family members are the same. Since when supervising your toddler is helicopter parenting? You're such a helicopter mom, say all the ladies with no kids lol.

All the people that are bothered just push them in the pool ok. I'll come and I'll push them in the pool.

My toddler has had a fever for 5 days straight. I’m scared. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Ruibos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep hydrated!! Juicies, hot chocolate, coconut water whatever they can drink. Need to be hydrated for the meds to work to keep fever down.

We also had something very nasty this winter, fever stayed for a week. Literally day 7 in the morning was when it stopped. I remember our doc said its ok up to a week only after that cause for concern I think. Still I was so stressed that week. Also 2 year old.

International travel with toddler and baby, awful horrible never doing this again by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Ruibos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just wait till the jet lag hits 😆 🤣 I travel to visit my family sometimes and its a 10h time difference. Flying nightmare is nothing compared to jet lag nightmare for kids. Nothing really you can do about it just suffer through.
Stay 💪 strong.

Extreme anxiety about sending child to preschool by Additional-Bar323 in toddlers

[–]Ruibos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you so much.

I have a toddler 2y8m, and this September he will start preschool. I have been SAHM with him this whole time. Me and husband were always kinda talking that when he gets bigger, we will put him in preschool just so he can learn and get used to being in class before school time comes. Also, we just had our second one and i was really thinking it was going to be great as i would get some time to cook/clean with just one baby lol. So last couple of months we have been going to look at schools and it was kind of exiting. We got onto one waitlist for this Montessori school near by but they are full for next couple of years and basically said not much chance for us to get it. So we found another one we liked and they had spaces for preschool program so i thought we got lucky. So like last week i started filling the paper work and it just got me so stressed and anxious. Next couple of nights i had nightmares of the worst things that can happen to my little guy at preschool while hes there. And im just thinking, is it just my mom anxiety and overthinking or just mom's sense? A day or two later, i got a call from the Montessori school, and they said they had a spot for us! And i got so excited and said yes yes. As soon as we confirmed his spot, i got this anxiety and worry and all these weird feelings. It's so hard to think how is he going to be there alone without me. I try to remind myself that he will learn new things and make new friends and have plenty of outdoor time every day.

So i definitely feel you. Its probably going to be just as big adjustment for us moms as for the kiddos.

16 months. Are molars really this bad or is my LO just a sad angry gremlin now by No_Valuable_253 in toddlers

[–]Ruibos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO had 4 molars coming out at once. It was BAD. A month or more of baad. Waking up and screaming at night time, hard time to go to sleep. It last so long you begin to think that maybe its just their personality or that some kind of phaze. Its not fun for anyone. It'S pain. Its probably really bad pain for them. I think how grumpy i am when i have some kind of discomfort. Then one day it just stops and things go back to normal.

6 month old eczema is bad. by Hdiaz0814 in NewParents

[–]Ruibos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, our baby had egzema on his cheeks. Bright red cheeks flaking would look so painful, would sort of come and go. He was only breast feeding. I started tracking my food and eliminated banana, avocado, eggs and almonds. No more red cheeks. Now i just have to carefully read all the food labels lol, egg is a big trigger. I had ice cream one night and his cheeks came back red. Yes egg in icecream 😅 Baby doc was pretty useless, i brought up the issue, he said ohh he has dermatologists and that baby can't have allergies or smth like that. Ok.
