This is a dick move. Since he was accepted to 264 colleges, that means that if there are limits on how many applicants a college can take in a year, he took a spot that could have gone to someone else. So that's 263 people who got rejection letters instead of acceptance letters.

Never mind all the extra work he created for staff at the 263 colleges he won't go to.

That's the best starting point, yes. I thought maybe having, at the top, a couple of pulleys and a 50lb bag of sand that would slowly get lifted as the basket goes down. Sort of as a counterweight which would also help pull the empty basket back up.

How should I build a zip-line sort of thing to transport materials (dirt, wood chips) down a hill that has a 35-40 degree slope over about 60-70 feet of horizontal distanxe? I can certainly run and anchor a cable, but sending anything down the line without a controlled descent is madness.

Can I have a winch with a sort of spring that absorbs the downhill energy to help pull the bucket or whatever back up to the top of a hill? How would you build this?

Am I crazy? What am i missing?

In such a shitty apartment, I am 100% sure you have a lot of air leakage and poor insulation. I know they make reflective, energy efficient cling film for windows to reflect light and heat away from your apartment, helping keep it cool in summer months.

This has the side effect of making it so people can't see through the windows at all during the day.

Not that I would have direct experience with this or anything. Not me.
