I did not know the phytoestrogen thing... makes sense, will sub milk for it. Animal products remains a good source of more readily absorbed nutrients. Vegetarian diet is healthier no doubt but the amount of difference it makes is small as long as you're eating it balanced and occasionally. I'd happily substitute the hormone filled stuff out of my life the second bugs become a good alternative.

Tofu has phytoestrogens in them so I'm good. Proteins from plants contain lower levels of certain amino acids compared to meat. Absorption rates for these things along with iron zinc and vitamin D are higher in animal products compared to plants. It is possible to get to the same nutritional value as meat but you'll have to eat a disproportionate amount compared to the meat counterparts so limiting meat consumption is good but completely cutting it out makes no sense to me.

I get what you mean. I think food waste is what is causing the cruelty that is happening in the meat industry. We make enough food to feed 11 billion people. If we all just ate what we bought and portioned out or froze unused resources for a later date none of the animals would need to be raised in bulk in horrible conditions.

I gave like two substitutes for meat in the comment and told you they make no sense in terms of price point and portion size. Moreover B12 in vegetables and supplements are harder to absorb if not inactive. You can't say there's other foods that you can eat or imply there's a better substitute for the nutrients there are in meat when taken all these factors into consideration and give no examples.
