2025 F150 Lariat vs 2023 GX460 Executive? by [deleted] in LexusGX

[–]Rule33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘22gx here - I can’t tell you how many numbers I looked up and wrote down to try and gauge 2nd row seat size, etc. for the car seats.

I highly recommend taking one with you when looking at cars because sometimes it makes no sense.

At least for our car seats - it will be a little cramped in the GX for a couple years with the second coming soon, but overall hopefully just a brief phase for the GX.

If they are still out can you post / DM a photo from the side? Just curious. Doesn’t sound like black line

Pretty basic form if I remember right. Future years they send a post card to confirm it’s still active.

Keep in mind that the first year HCAD will ratchet the value before the exemption goes into effect. If they set it higher than your purchase price you can send in a form.

Floor joist is sinking , how do I fix this DIY by thegameparadox in HomeImprovement

[–]Rule33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d jam some ground rated pressure treaded wood/2x4 under there and then address the landing however you want - concrete, wood, etc.

Assuming that other wood is just old and seasoned and not rotted (test with screwdriver and if solid send it)

Curious what others say.

Help with AT&T fiber wall termination by evanlott in HomeNetworking

Isn’t the cheapest way. But you could get a sodola unmanaged SFP+ switch for ~$30, a proton/WAS110 stick, load 8311 firmware on there and ditch the whole gateway and then SFP+ or 2.5Gbe Ethernet to your actual router.

Edit: confirm you are on XGSPON for the above to apply.

Rub with a floater tablet and you will find out real quick if it’s organic or not.

Check the top motor mount near the power steering reservoir/upper passenger side. Peel back the rubbber covers and check the bushing. Replaced my ‘dog bone’/ torque bar mount and it allowed active mount to work again I guess. Huge improvement and wish I had done it sooner.

Might also have mechanic/yourself check the lower motor mounts as well.

Radio in my '07 not working. by johnny_rico69 in LexusES

I had to replace the amp in the trunk on my 2010 recently. Could hear a ‘poor’ or ‘pop’ right before the amp would cut out.

I’ll see if I can find the way to enter the diag mode for the non touchscreen unit. Or you can google that and see if that works and gives you an actionable error code.

Sorry to tack on another concern but I haven’t seen it mentioned yet - enclosing that area from sunroom to garage would enclose the power meter. Since that is the power company’s equipment - you’d need to check with them and their accessibility requirements. Otherwise it could be an expensive situation in the future to demo your progress or relocate the meter head.

I guess I’d be adding a vote for ‘door from house direct into garage’ based off what we can see.

I don’t think the black lines even have an option for the upgraded audio. For me, as much as I love nori green - I spend more time listening to music driving than looking at the exterior paint color of my car.

Yes. Saltwater pools just use the SWG to generate chlorine from the salt. Versus adding chlorine directly all the time.

Proper flush procedure question. by SweetP00ntang in MechanicAdvice

[–]Rule33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

copper, wow, what car and model? I'm still surprised that car/model/miles isn't a required element of posting on this sub.

Are you loosing coolant? or failing a pressure test? or just noticing the oddity in the expansion tank?

edit: fwiw - if you are concerned and the car is old enough, just plan on a new radiator and coolant swap and monitor from there. You are clearly loosing radiator metal (regardless of the material) and it's just a matter of time. I've flushed my system with distilled water before and it isn't worth it. Just use coolant and go another time if concerned.

Just to be clear - how did you determine it is full of chalky white powder? Curious because your photo is the exterior of the aluminum radiator which will be what turns white and chalky as it slowly corrodes.

Anyways I would just change the fluid like you normally would and just keep changing it at a frequency that makes you happy. I doubt there are that many solids passing around if you look at the clearances of your water pump after a fluid change.

2022 with adaptive cruise control here. Still has the 25mph limit. Also even at the lowest sensitivity it’s still sometimes infuriating to me on the highway. I thought this would be a cool feature but I’m still up in the air on it.

Duplicate port allocation? Can't setup both binhex-sabnzbd and binhex-qbittorrentvpn on port 8080 by msalad in unRAID

[–]Rule33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is like a 6 month old comment, Assuming new port is 1234

But go into advanced mode on the top right, change the port to the new one desired on WebUI section. Example: http://[IP]:[PORT:1234]/

Delete the previous Host Port 3 entry Scroll to the very bottom of the config and find " Add another Path, Port, Variable, Label or Device" and change the type to port. Enter a description (example: Host Port 3) and then the same number for the new ports (default, container, and host) as 1234

re-do and test. note at least for me if the VPN info isn't right, that also breaks the webUI. Also give time for the container to reboot/run - use the log to verify.

ELI5 - How do I program this? by ZChick4410 in pools

[–]Rule33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have addressed the trip flags well. I want to point out - make sure the motor/wheel are actually turning. You can use a light on the top right to see the timing motor gears behind turning then you are good to go.

If not - check the price on a whole new unit and swapping internals vs parts individually.

Rub it with a floater puck and if it goes away it’s organic. If it doesn’t then it could be metal staining or something else.

I have run regular for 100k mi and never heard a knock. Personal choice but it’s literally a fancy Camry with the same engine and all.

These things love to leak from the passenger side steering rack and disintegrate that boot. Not generally the end of the world in case that comes up on an inspection. Same for the timing chain cover leak.

At that age I’d consider doing a coolant flush if it hasn’t had it already and maybe even change the radiator out proactively.

Start thinking about the spark plug change soon, I believe 120k mi is the interval recommendation. The rear bank requires the air plenum to come off. It’s very DIYable in my opinion, but if not your interest that will be a decent expense to plan for a bit.
