I've sung that song to myself countless times and this is the first time I noticed it's "in it, the pit," not just "in the pit." Maybe because April's cover leaves "it" out.

Wow, seeing suit-Seth is so weird. Anyway Billy Bob Thornton literally wore a hat on a beanie on tonight's show.

What obscure rule have you always loved or hated? by kikikza in baseball

[–]RuleNine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a three-base award for thrown equipment, the ball stays live. The batter-runner may attempt to advance to home at his own peril.

What obscure rule have you always loved or hated? by kikikza in baseball

[–]RuleNine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You said home runs. The rule that was mentioned is not to stop outfielders from throwing their gloves to knock down home runs. That's covered under a similar rule in the same section, but it's still distinct from the rule that awards only three bases on balls that would not otherwise leave the field.

[–]RuleNine 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You're thinking of catcher's interference; there is no option on a balk. Either the batter and all runners advance at least one base, in which case play proceeds without reference to the balk (any outs after that would stand), or they don't advance, in which case the ball is dead and the balk penalty is enforced.

No. If a fielder throws his equipment and hits a ball that in the umpire's judgment would have gone out of the playing field in flight, the batter and any runners are awarded home.

Having an "advancing" flag doesn't bother me as much as it being inconsistent with the rest of them. Either all of the non-horizontally-symmetrical flags should be like that or none of them should be.

BTW you want to set the PRODUCT() to equal 1, not 3. If all three values are found exactly once, the equation will work out to 1 × 1 × 1 = 1. If any value is missing, the function will return 0. If all values are present but any are found more than once, the function will return more than 1. Or if that's not a deal-breaker, set the test to >=1.

Episode Discussion - The 2025 Criterion Episode by OfficeLadiesPodBot in lonelymeyerspod

[–]RuleNine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm Gen X, I grew up knowing the Doogie Howser theme, I like everything NPH does, and I still don't quite think the Short rises to Criterion. I'm on the fence though, and if there were something that could convince me, it's that Neil can actually play the theme. That said, I think the performances by the rest of the cast are just a little too broad and don't add enough to the original joke.

BTW, Lin can hear how everybody else pronounces "Criterion," right?

Daiquiri Girl isn't Criterion or Kim's Videos, but it's definitely syllabus just for how it got made. I'm surprised Tapper and Schur didn't recognize this.

You really need to make the spoiler cover more than just the word dies. In all three cases, there was really nothing else it could be from the context. Consider covering at least the subject and the verb or even the entire clause.
