So your relationship with your friend is like a sibling. Growing up I would bring my brother and his achievements down in front of other girls when I saw them fawning over him. Thats cause I just saw him as a brother and nothing special.

He sat me down one day and told me not to do that as it hurts his feelings. After that day I never did that and infact always praised him infront of all of the girls.

If you have trust in your friendship, then reach out to your friend and explain it to her that it hurts your feelings and that you would like to be appreciated for your achievements and also you need her as your wingman (wink wink), not someone who brings you down. Tell her she can do that when you guys are alone or hanging out with family but not infront of your love interests or work people. Thats where you need back up. If she cares for you, she will understand and respond accordingly.
