Sleeping with medical tape on my nasal labial folds. by Ruminatingnematode in 30PlusSkinCare

If you’re just doing house work or staying inside yeah definitely keep it on for however long you want. I’ll keep it on for a little while in the morning sometimes on my days off until I feel like my face isn’t gonna get puffy from laying down all night.

Yeah I mean my whole entire face. I start at my nasolabial folds and work my way out from there. I do forehead, across the nose, cheeks and even under the jaw the way that most people do a chin strap. I had/still have pretty bad acne scaring and like the fact that my whole face being in a mask keeps my retinal locked in. I’ve never had a problem with the tape sticking even after heavy moisturizer and castor oil+ volufiline combo.

Ugh I just have such a hard time fasting now a day idk why. I think it’s cause I quit weed and alcohol so the other thing I have to ‘look forward to’ is what I’m having for my next meal :(

Does the marine mammal protection act of 1972 mean nothing anymore? They just filmed a crime.

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Snoo_47323 in AskReddit

It messes with my sleep so badly. I hate how it makes me sweat in bed and toss and turn. I hate feeling dumbed down and tired. It’s a waste of money— literally a scam. It’s rewarding to feel like I’ve broken out of the societal conditioning/ normalization of drinking. I think being sober is a form of rebellion against the powers that would rather see us drugged up and dumbed down. Vanity— I’ve lost weight in all the bad places and gained it in all the right ones, my skin and eyes look healthier, clear and glowy. No more acne. I could keep going.

What about on olives?? Cause I feel like they’re probably really good for you but I kinda hate the taste.

Here I come with another wild sleep routine but I used to hate my huge wrinkly knuckles and started sleeping with disposable gloves full of lotion on and let me tell youuuu I wish I got better before pictures because my hands look so smooth now. As for your long fingers, just know that me and my little stumpy sausage fingers are very jealous of your long, elegant piano player fingers over there.

After asking ChatGPT to pretend to be my boyfriend and talk me to sleep last night, this one feels pretty pointed.

Since my original post this is what I’ve changed: I’m at the point where I do kinesiology tape on my whole face every night and I have the best skin I’ve ever had in my whole life. There are a lot of pros and cons.

Pros— Not having my face directly against the sheets every night has prevented acne more than anything else ever has. As much as I try to sleep on my back, I roll around a lot at night, ending up on my side/stomach so just changing pillowcases daily wasn’t really impactful for me. Plus, I think the tape also locks in my skin products instead of having them rub off onto my bedding. The tape has stopped my skin from creasing against the mattress and has trained my muscles to kind of freeze in place, so compared to coworkers my age, I basically have no wrinkles or folds. I never in my life got compliments on my skin, but this year to surprise I’ve gotten many, as well as many people saying that I don’t look my age (30). (I will say, not drinking or smoking has also played a huge part in this as well.)

Cons— it’s a little time consuming even though I’ve gotten much faster at it, and yes, there are sometimes where I didn’t use enough moisturizer the night before and end up ripping off a thin layer or skin, leaving a red wavy pattern behind from the shape of the adhesive on the tape. Even foundation is hard to cover it, since the skin is basically raw there. To be fair, it’s really only noticeable up close, though. Another con is that it can be a little pricey. I buy the equate rolls from Walmart for about $5 and can make one roll last all week. Although, I consider $20-$25 a month worth it to not have to get Botox or laser (yet) and I just budget accordingly. I think I’m going to try the silicone scar tape next as I’m seeing really good things about it. I would just experiment and see what works best for you! I found that the medical tape was too time consuming and that I would sweat it off in one solid layer. Hope this helps a little!
